WK SRT8 staggered rims on a WK2 Overland? Need feedback please!!!

I have a WK2 overland 5.7 with 20X8 all around. I have upgraded to Nexen high performance all season 275/45/20. My good friend is selling his WK SRT8 alcoa replicas in 20X8 front and 20X10 rear. I am getting them for a ridiculous price but I need to make sure they will fit on my WK2. Does anyone have any idea or know of someone that has done this before???????

Re: WK SRT8 staggered rims on a WK2 Overland? Need feedback please!!!

they will fit. The only issue with staggered is you can't rotate them and they wear out faster.

If you are fine with that, go for it. It wont hurt your car.

Re: WK SRT8 staggered rims on a WK2 Overland? Need feedback please!!!

Definitely going with 275s in the front and 295s in the back. most likely 275/45/20 for front but does anyone know if 295/45/20 are ok for the back or do i need to go 40 or lower? Sorry for the newbie question!!

With staggered wheels you will need 45 front and 40 rear to have a propper overall rolling diamater.

But then your front tire will have more sidewall than your rear, which never looks good in a staggered setup.

All staggered set ups should have diff size side walls. This way you will have the same overall rolling diameter ! It's not a look thing, it's a function thing, any wheel place will agree with this.

Re: WK SRT8 staggered rims on a WK2 Overland? Need feedback please!!!

I'm having second thoughts about the whole staggered rim thing.........I have some time to make my mind up waiting for someone to buy my 20in rims and nexen tire combo. I might just try and get 20X10s all around because then I won't have to worry about rotating them either.

Re: WK SRT8 staggered rims on a WK2 Overland? Need feedback please!!!

I have had staggered wheels on all my cars except my truck. My wifes BMW X5 looked great with staggered wheels. It's really not a hard thing and if you look at it long term you will have to replace you rear ties before your front and generally is nice because it splits up the bill. It all evens out in the wash. You typically get 2 rear sets for every front set.

But.... On the other hand, 20x10 on all 4 corners would look aggressive as hell!!

I'm not saying that they shouldn't have different size sidewalls (aspect ratio's), I'm just saying from an aesthetic point the rear sidewall should be the same height or taller than the front.

If you look at a 275/45 tire it is 275mm wide and 45% as tall. 275mmx.45=123.75mm
A 295/40 is 295mmx.40=118mm.

If it would fit, you would rather run a 305/40 or 315/40 in the rear to keep the sidewall (and thus the overall diameter as close to the front as possible). Or keep the 295 in the rear and run a 265 in front.

If you look at the WK's they ran a 255/45 and 285/40 combo. Do the math and you will see there is less than 1mm difference.
