WK2 GC - Yokohama Geolandars?

I'm picking up my new Overland on Friday. I want to change the tyres immediately - probably straight from the dealer to the tyre shop. I've been looking and looking at tyres. I think I've decided on the Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S ... Seems about right for my style of driving.

One question - they have the correct 265/60R18 110H for my car (I added the off road pack) but they also have a 285/60R18 116H.

Does anyone know if the Jeep can take the 285 wide tyre without it hitting anything? It has the air suspension FWIW.

Thanks!

Phil.

Re: WK2 GC - Yokohama Geolandars?

Might be a tight fit with the oem 18s wheel offset but should fit. Im running 285/50/20s on Srt 8 reps with plenty of clearance. I believe a few are running the same size on the oem 20s without issue.

Good choice on the 265 60 R18. I'm running that exact tire on my '11 WK2 and they have performed very well over about 200 off road miles. I live in the southwest, so they haven't seen too much mud, but have seen plenty of sand and rock. We took it to Sedona, AZ a few weeks back and had no problems with that terrain.

I couldn't agree more. I've only had the car a week and a bit, but yesterday we had some really nasty weather in Sydney and they performed brilliantly ... really felt planted.

What pressure do you run in yours? My tyre dealer told me they need to be run much higher than placarded when on the road ... he told me to run them at 40PSI. They have driven great at that pressure, but I have to say it preys on my mind a little. I guess I'll just have to watch the wear carefully.
