wk2 lift kits

Finally got me a 2011 Grand Cherokee (non-QuadraLift), after years of wanting to be a Jeep man, and I want to get it lifted. Nothing crazy, just a couple inches to give it a little more aggressive stance. The only lift kit I've been able to find for a post-2010 model is a 2.5" lift from Rocky-Road Outfitters, but some of the reviews I'm finding about those guys are a little discerning. Anybody have any experience with them or know a better place to get a lift kit?

Re: wk2 lift kits

RRO 2.5" is the only lift fit out for now... About 2 weeks ago i ordered my winch bumper combo kit and pre-runner skid plate from them got it 3 days ago. Packaging was good even though they shipped it all in one box prior to that order I ordered the leveling kit from them No issues then ether. maybe some people have Higher expectations then others
And welcome to the forum

Re: wk2 lift kits

Thanks. I've really been sitting on the fence with this one. Today is the day to finally pull the trigger. I've been able to find surprisingly few lifted wk2s, but with only one supplier I can see why. Once it's all done, I'll post some pics and a review for anyone else with similar questions.

Re: wk2 lift kits

I have the RRO leveling kit.

the WK2 needs this. It appears to be a larger vehicle. The profile just looks "right". I don't notice any difference in driving. I do not do any off roading.

I did change the wheels from 18" to 20" at the same time, Michelin 275/55-20 tires.

I also removed the small "wings" under the front bumper cover. Also made a noticeable change to the appearance.

Interesting feedback: A younger guy driving a 2012 WK2 Laredo was at the car wash with his lady friend. When the my car and his car were backed into spots next to one another as they were being dried, the lady friend said, "his looks bigger than yours".

At that moment I said, "worth every penny"!

Installed my RRO lift kit last weekend and the wheel alignment done today. Also picked up my new wheels. Going to wait until Fall to put them on since they're a different size than factory and I want a more aggressive tire. No point in burning expensive tread on dry summer roads. Feeling very impatient to complete the package, though.

Re: wk2 lift kits

VPexhaust - I love your story at the car wash. I laughed my ass off on that one.

Do you have photos? I upgraded to the 20s and am ready for new tires. I plan to upsize those as well and am trying to decide if I need the level and / or lift kit.

I'm concerned about a "squatted look" from too much lift in the front with the level kit. Have you had any issues with that?

Some of the pictures I've seen make me worry about that but maybe it's just the photos?

Re: wk2 lift kits

2011 - if you have any photosnof your newly completed project I'd love to see them as well. Again, just trying to gather as much info as I can. Some photos are hard to tell. Thanks for the help.

Re: wk2 lift kits

Look at Dobinson Spring for a spring lift for the WK2's vs a spacer kit. I have not used them but it seems like the only other option besides RR

Re: wk2 lift kits

Well I got a package deal, I think it was worth it (1 day of overtime at work paid for it) They put the RRO Leveling kit on with the combo winch mount , skid plate and my tow hooks installed. BUT it is a POSER for now because the WARN 9.5 would not work so got to save a few more $$$ to get the WARN V10000. The stance is Nice
they said RRO shorted me some parts and they could not mount the light/push bars..... The only bad thing is i told the Kid working on it what i was going to do RE: the UNFINISHED look with the Skid plate on, Well he ran with it and thought he would do me a favor and do it for me it looks ok but He is not a finisher as in rough cuts, i wanted to retain a LiL more of the valance heres a few pictures
