Indeed they do. He was making a point that BMW M cars are adopting more pistons in their calipers.

I think we're getting waaaay off-topic, though. I'd like to hear more updates about fitting the SRT8 Brembos on my WK2.

BMW using 1-2 piston at front? maybe in the base models, not on the performance ones. Lets se the new M5 caliper, how many pistons are there?
I have had my weeks worth of dumb from this post.
Try putting thin crap tyres on your Ferrari and see the stopping distance in comparison to race slicks, I think you will find the TYRES do the majority of the stopping
If you want to correct people, at least be right.

the ignorance on this thread is just astounding. empircal facts are nothing in the face of anecdotal experiences and old wives tales. the only thing keeping the car attached to the road is the rubber in your tires. so yes, putting a set of 165/35/14 cutrate tires with 75,000 miles on them will do absolutely nothing for a Ferrari F50. a toyota corolla with race slicks will stop better. if you don't believe me, try it.

i get my weekly does of asinine speech from here, but gotta speak up every now and then for the small handful of people here still holding the torch for true facts and physics.

see you guys back here in a couple of weeks, i'm sure to refute more ignorance. If you would like to learn a bit more, there's more than enough proof in this thread to figure it out.

Apparently this isn't true, and the front Brembos will in fact bolt right up to all WK2 front spindles!

http://www.jeepgarage.org/showthread...267#post657267

Now the question is will they clear the OEM Overland 20" wheels as well??

Re: WK2 SRT Brembo brake kit on an Overland

yep...and I made that statement based on what an SRT engineer told me......LOL. I guess he didnt want the secret to get out to quick!

I will have a write up as soon as the parts I need come in. All thats needed is the calipers, rotors and splash shield from the SRT

Re: WK2 SRT Brembo brake kit on an Overland

lol read don't know how many pages of this but it got fun real fast. I want better braking in my Limited and know better rotors like DBA and good pads with SS lines will do it.

I can tell you guys when I raced my FWD track car I went from the OEM 11" front rotors and single piston calipers to twin piston aluminum Camaro calipers with the same rotors and I did notice a difference immediately. The car was running high 11s with a custom Eaton Gen V and a Phenolic ZZP IC.

Almost crashing a few times I went to a 13.6" CTS-V brembo setup thinking it would help. There was no difference in my normal stopping what so ever. It was only when I was coming down from high 120mph at the track where I saw a difference. This was after a Precision CEA 6765 DBB with a Stattama T4 based exhaust swap and it was running high 10s.

Track tires were MT ET 10s. Street tires were Toyo TQ.

There are other factors sometimes. If you start with a shit setup like I did and slightly move up I think you'll notice it everyday. If you start with decent brakes and upgrade to higher end stuff like I also did I'll say the only time you'll notice is when crazy braking or repetitive hard braking.
