Re: Wrangler 17" and 18" wheels?

and that is a good point misfit....I am looking at a set of 5 perfect wrangler sahara take-offs WHEEL ONLY for $400. not a good price?! I just really like the look of this wheel even over the mopar accessory wheels and a lot of aftermarket choices..It will be used as an extra/winter/offroad set.

Re: Wrangler 17" and 18" wheels?

Also what is the difference between light truck LT275/65/18 and passenger P275/65/18? Would the LT tires be sidewall load rating "E" and the P tires sidewall load rating "C"? I have heard that the "C" sidewall rating can be a little "spongy" on highway with heavier vehicles. Is the JGC Hemi to be considered heavy enough to warrant an LT (or "E"?) tire? The price difference is pretty significant (+~$50/tire). I am still deciding whether to go GY Wrangler Duratrac or GY Wrangler Silent Armor. I want to get at least 50,000 miles out of whatever I choose, and snow/ice capability is paramount.

Re: Wrangler 17" and 18" wheels?

When deciding P vs LT....read the paperwork.

When I had my old XJ, the walmart tire (Liberator) the LT has a lesser load range than the P, but had more tread and lower speed rating. I think th P had more millage warranty as well.

P235/75R15/XL 108 S 13/32"
LT235/75R15/C 104 Q 14.5/32"

What paperwork are you referring to?

Re: Wrangler 17" and 18" wheels?

So, I don't know about the paperwork...but according to goodyear, the LT has 17/32" tread versus 13/32" tread. So it would appear that the LT will wear longer and likely have a stiffer ride. Good idea or no?

Stock 20" tires are a 111 load rating standard load not XL. A C load rated tire would be borderline honestly. A D load rated tire is ideal I believe. E load rated will be very stiff as they are really designed for hd trucks.

What size tires are those? Do you have quadra lift and do they rub at all??

Thanks,
Ryan

I have those on my wk2 as well. Tires are 255 70 18. I have QL and there is no rub at all (although haven't really tried compressing the suspension in park mode with steering turned to lock)
