14' Granite Overland JGC Build Thread

Got my 2014 Overland a month ago and been slowly doing basic mods.

-3M Vinyl window trim, front rear, roof rack
-Debadged front, side, rear
-Plasti dip handles, side mirror, emblem (temp until I get them painted)
-Tint to match rear

Hope you guys like!

Pictures next to my buddies ZDX.

Re: 14' Granite Overland JGC Build Thread

I really wanted to do this to my Granite Overland. But I think i'm now convinced otherwise... Sorry. Maybe the pics just don't do it justice. Maybe it needs black rims?

Yeah I'm not a photographer so probably the photos are bad. I think it looks better in person. 22" black wheels will make a huge difference. Getting those soon.

Yeah I think black rims will make a big difference. Especially if you go with wider SRT8 Rims.

Re: 14' Granite Overland JGC Build Thread

Finally got some new wheels and mounted them this week. Overall very satisfied with the new setup. I think i'm pretty set on mods now. Completed my checklist but it'll probably grow.

Re: 14' Granite Overland JGC Build Thread

Excellent! Looks great. Granite was my other choice for my 14' Altitude but black sucked me in just like it did with my previous vehicles. You know what they say, once you go black.....

BTW: Did you do the 3M vinyl window trim yourself or have a shop do it? What 3M product was used? I'm about to do this to my 14' Altitude but just started researching. I don't want to do Plasti-Dip.

...you never go back. LOL. Yeah I feel ya. My previous two cars were black as well. I wanted to switch it up.

Yeah I used 3M 1080 scotchprint gloss black. It matches dead on with the B pillars and feels just like paint. I vinyled everything myself. Take your time, give yourself plenty of vinyl to work with, squeegee and heat and its pretty easy. Plasti dip sucks in areas where it gets lots of traffic and WILL peel after a month. Good luck!

Re: 14' Granite Overland JGC Build Thread

What are the specs on the new wheels and tires?

They fill out the wheel wells nicely.
