I kept asking myself why Chrysler couldn't make a Blacked Out Overland/Summit for those of us who want all the bells and whistles while still keeping the Altitude scheme.
I found a great deal on a new left-over stock 2014 Summit but HATED the wheels. I was going to be giving up some off road capability ... but lets be honest ... will I REALLY ever do some serious off road???? So I figured I would use the $$ I saved and make my own Altitude Summit and get the wheels powder coated and plasti dip the chrome myself. All the features on the Summit are pretty nice I have to admit. Living in New England, the heated steering wheel is NICE!
So I plasti dipped most of the chrome black with glossifiier (I prefer the wet look over matte black) and added some caliper covers from MGP. The only chrome I have left to do is the chrome around the tail lights and roof rack mounts.
Have K&N 77 Series Metal Intake Kit - 77 Series Air Intake and a Jet Power-Flow TBI Spacer coming this weekend.
Think the results aren't too bad so far.
My twin! Welcome and enjoy!
Do you have the HEMI? Please say you do.
I have the entertainment package and my son loves it.
I added Bora spacers on the wheels See other threads. Haven't added pics yet.
I love the way the Jeep drives now with them on, Feels more stable on the ground.
I as well did the K&N air intake and DiabloSport tune, What a big difference.
I would love to change the exhaust to give it that SRT sound, or close to it.
I had the new style Durango RT and the sound was hard to give up.
Maybe if I decide to keep it i'll swap out the exhaust.
