2014 Cashmere Summit Build Begins

Now I have the beast all working and happy its time for the changes to start
Now I have to apologize that I have not had a chance to take any pictures of mine yet and these were taken off the Web, but I am just back from talking to someone about the Vinyl Wrapping and wanted to put it out while things were still fresh.

So what I am looking at doing at the moment
  • Gloss Black on the Chrome around the the windows to match the pillars
  • Mat Black on the roof rails to match the end caps
  • Painting the Black lower skirts with a Stone Gaurd and then Cashmere to match the rest of the car
  • The lower Chrome strip and the chrome in the tail lights I am thinking of covering with a Metallic Aluminium Vinyl (which blends in with the Cashmere and tones done the Chrome?
  • I have Black inserts on order for the front grill
  • I have the Black surround ordered for the rear step
  • Will take all the Badges off apart from the Jeep on the Tail gate and MAYBE the Summit Badge?
  • Already had Colour coded rear view mirrors and DVG Maddington was kind enough to swap the Chrome door handles while the repairs were getting done

Going to wait and see what the rear Jeep Badge looks like when everything else is done, thinking that if I replace it with the Black one it will stand out even more?? The guy was not too keep about Wrapping it so it may have to stay as is?

What do you guys think?
Anything I have forgotten??

Sounds like you'll be minimizing the chrome and color matching most of the vehicle.

Which sounds GREAT (and should have been a Factory Option from Jeep).

Have you thought about doing anything to the Rims?

Now Snuke, I am not sure if your are still St!t stirring or being serious. But I think I will leave the exhaust tips the way they are?
Maybe Black would look better and blend in better than the chrome since all the other chrome will be gone???

Totally agreed, a little chrome can look good but I personally feel they have gone way over the top on the Grand Cherokee's and would appear to be a common opinion from the amount of posts where people are also getting rid of it.

With the rims, I dont mind them too much, but will have another think about it once has been painted and wrapped. I picked up a set of Laredo rims to swap over too when heading off road, so may even look at selling both sets and getting one nice set that can just stay on the vehicle all the time?

So many options and only so much money

Outside all washed and badges removed
Inside fully detailed and leather treated :-)
Will finish the exterior once the lower skirts are painted and Chrome is wrapped

Cheers Mate

Fingers crossed all the drama's are now in the past

Although there was not much of a choice of colours in the Summit (I did not want White and did not want another dark car that would show every little mark) now I have the car I am really happy that I did go with the Cashmere

Be even happier when all the Chrome is gone

Re: 2014 Cashmere Summit Build Begins

Just installed the RAX Jailbreak software by Customtronix, great install with everything easy and straight forward all working as stated

Will receive the harness and cameras to complete the install early this week along with a heap of other little goodies that have been ordered, unfortunately I need to do a work trip for 2 weeks so wont be here to play

Least everything will be here when I get back

You can plasti dip the rear emblem black, and if you don't like it that way, remove the dip

Ended up adding a Black badge to my order coming over from the States so will see how things look and if necessary do something with it?
Thinking it will be a lot easier getting something done with it OFF the car rather than on

Re: 2014 Cashmere Summit Build Begins

Well back from the work trip, unfortunately pissing down with rain so did not get to do as much as I wanted
Changed the rear step surround
Fitted the Pedal kit and put my new mats in

Played with the new links from adjustableairride for a bit, but chicken out after seeing that the front are shaped/bent and the new are just straight
