So...it can always be worse...
I forgot about that. He kept the second one though, and it was fine after he had it fixed. So yeah, it can be worse, but I have had one of the worst experiences. No one else has had their engine blow up, especially 80-100 miles from home. All I was trying to say was don't hold off from buying one because of my experience, because my experience is not what people are dealing with in general.

Ah. Didn't know he kept the second one (I just remember him being in talks to have it bought back too). And yes, your experience has been rather on the awful side. Not only did your engine blow up...it did it due to a really rare occurrence. I think I've only seen a bent rod from an injector hanging open a couple of times--and it didn't happen while the engine was running (they hydrolocked after being shut down for a while). So, you definitely get an 'A' for bizarre problems

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland- Granite

As promised, I am going to stop whining and start posting pictures again.

Finally, I got a good snow picture.

I am entering it in JOTM, so vote for me if you like it. This will be the first time since July that I have entered because it is the first time I have gotten a good enough picture to make it worthwhile.

More pictures will come as opportunities present themselves (and as the weather warms up).

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland- Granite

Sorry to hear about your problems with your beautiful Jeep. I think you should start a buyback and get a granite with indigo interior in my honor...

Honestly hope you get everything worked out!!

Thanks guys. I hit 5000 miles today, and the more I think about it, the more I want to just keep it. I don't really want to deal with Chrysler on a buy back and none of the current issues are real issues other than the ACC/FCW. If that can be fixed, I might just keep it. By the way, I'm starting to love the Jeep again. I can't wait until the weather warms up so that I can ride with the windows down and hopefully do some real off-roading.

Have you decided what your doing for wheels/tires for off road. Are you going to 18" or going to put an AT tire on the stock 20".

That depends on what I end up doing. I might buy a second house (and 350-600 acres) about 1.5 hours from my house, and I might drive it to my house in AZ this summer. I will first try out the GY Forteras and see how they are. My final decision will depend on how the Forteras perform and what I think I need for the level of off-roading that I will end up doing.

It probably had something to do with the OP of this Thread mentioning a Range Rover Sport first in Post # 54 of this thread!

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland- Granite

I will be putting the skid plates on if it ever warms up. It's just too cold right now, and unfortunately, the cold looks to be sticking around for a while.

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland- Granite

The next week or so is even more depressing after the weekend where I was outside in short sleeves.

Love the granite btw!
