I am calling Jeep this week now that I am back in town.
I have been fighting my dealership constantly over my air suspension. I've lost count how many times I've taken her in for it. They are recognizing she's a lemon but she's been with me for too long.

I've reached upper management now and we're discussing a solution. Apparently its a software issue and they are apparently dealing with Jeep US for a solution.

I live all the way in Kuwait so don't feel too bad. Push hard enough and they'll work with you whether it applies to lemon law or not. Wishing you the best mate.

If my suspension issue isn't fixed I'm going to discuss a replacement or a really good trade in. I wanted to honestly go back to vw but I decided a) i love my jeep regardless of its problems and b) I'm really having some financial issues. Nothing life threatening but definitely not in a situation to buy a new car or trade in for crap resale. So we'll see what happens!

UPDATE:

The Jeep is currently at the dealer, and has been since Thursday night. Someone from corporate is coming in to look at the Jeep and assess it on Monday. I'll update you guys after I hear the findings!

Don't feel bad...they had to replace mine. It happens unfortunately. The replacement just arrived at the dealer yesterday.

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland- Granite

UPDATE:

Unfortunately (or fortunately for my case of trying to get it bought back ), the issue with the ACC/FCW has not been fixed. It has actually gotten WORSE since I last brought it in. I left my case manager a voicemail on Friday and expect to hear back tomorrow.

I've finally come to an agreement. They're buying back my 2011 for a really good price. I tried to make the case that this has been happening within the first year or ownership (suspension problems) but I settled for a really good trade in.

Now I'm considering getting a challenger RT or maybe a Charger/300. It would just be less investment from my end than getting the Hemi JGC.

Anyone have any experience with the challenger RT? I'm actually kinda excited by the idea, I'm not a big fan of the challenger, I prefer my sports cars to be turbocharged and tiny but I'm willing to take a shot on the challenger. It's considerably less investment from my end and considering I just got engaged and hopefully getting married this summer I want to save as much as possible without losing the Hemi engine.

GCOverland, I wish you the best of luck with your endeavours. I will keep you posted when I finally trade in my car. This has been ongoing for a while now but it seems to be materializing from my end.

Thought I'd share so I would let you know that you shouldn't lose hope. You may not get the deal you want but I'm sure you can get a great deal without giving up too much.

Thanks for your help, and I'm glad that Chrysler did the right thing and bought your Jeep back. I also might replace the Jeep with a Challenger or Charger (I'm looking at a lot of vehicles right now), but don't have any experience with either. Keep us updated on what you end up doing!

I'm also thrilled that chrysler has stepped up. I had completely lost faith if I'm perfectly honest. My last WK2 was nothing but problems. At one point it was to the service center for my suspension every 2 weeks. They assured me that it was a very rare case and wasn't present for the first year of ownership. They have finally fixed it but after my deal and agreement had taken place and I'm happy that they wills till honour our deal instead of giving me my car back. We decided on a great trade in value, and I'll add cash on top of whatever car I want to buy.

My only concern with the Challenger is the 2015s come in around February (here in Kuwait). The price is a little inflated and they're giving me a great deal now on a 2014 100th Anniversary RT Challenger. I saw the V6 version on the lot and will be shooting for the RT. I'm also not sure I care too much about the upgrade in the interior to warrant such a price boost compared to this deal I'm getting. It's a couple thousand less than the JGC Hemi 2014 they're offering me. Fully loaded Limited without the air suspension).

I love the jeep but I'm really considering the challenger (even though I'm a mustang guy when it comes to pony cars and you can all hate me for that ). I still do really like the challenger RT and have been going through the ChallengerTalk forums and have found some awesome reviews. I'm just kinda hoping to find out more about reliability. Also that I need to make a decision by Thursday is kinda another factor.

Here's the pic of the V6, I took it because it's in that limited edition Red they told me about (forget the factory colour name). It looks pretty sweet. I figure if reliability for Challengers are good. If I keep this for decades it can potentially be a great classic worth a lot, especially since it's the 100th anniversary edition. Not really sure if that will be the case but I'm assuming it will be.

Tough choices. I liked the charger and 300 but for me if I'm buying a sedan, I might as well go for an SUV (more space and better for rough roads/off road etc). So to me it's really between the Challenger RT and the JGC Hemi Limited. I really really need to think this through over the next day or two. I really tried for a great deal on an SRT8 Challenger but it was still way out of what I wanted to add on top considering my engagement in december and wedding in May (which means I'm tight on cash yet again).

I was originally thinking of getting the JGC and then grabbing the new Golf R next year, but this Challenger may be the perfect compromise between a sports car and daily driver without having to splurge a lot on cash.

I think I'm going to go for the challenger. Would be a shame because I really loved my Jeep, but I think it's time to downsize haha.

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland- Granite

Jeep's initial offer was to give me an "unbeatable" deal on the new one, which they said was 4-5% under invoice. I got 7% below invoice the first time around, so you can guess my response. Instead of dealing with them, I think I'm just going to deal with the people in the government (never thought I'd say that) handling my lemon law case, as they can actually MAKE Jeep buy mine back.

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland- Granite

Some thoughts after 20 months and 13,500 miles:

I've had a ton going on recently, so I haven't been on the forums much. Anyway, things are starting to wind back down again, so I'm hoping that I can catch up on what I've missed around here! As far as the Jeep goes, I am still glad I made the purchase, in spite of the many problems. At this point, most of the problems are small annoyances as opposed to real issues. Jeep did promise to fix the ACC/FCW issue, but did not offer to buy it back (yet). It has now been 3 weeks, and the part they said would take about a week to come in is nowhere to be seen. If it does get bought back, I am either getting a Wrangler Rubicon Hard Rock or another GC, likely an Overland, so I am here to stay either way.

Regardless, I can't wait until Summer to have some fun with the Jeep. We've had a terrible, cold winter here, and the Jeep is currently caked in road salt, both inside and out. It looks like the persistent below-freezing weather is finally going to be on its way out starting next week, and I am hoping that I will be able to get a full detail in to get it back to showroom condition as soon as possible. Once the leaves start coming back, I'll start posting some more pictures. I am also planning on doing some longer road trips this summer, so stay tuned for pictures and experiences from around the U.S.

A Porsche Macan Turbo will replace the Lexus. I figured that I already have a Jeep and the accompanying experience, and wanted to try something different. The issues I've had with this Jeep didn't weigh in the Jeep's favor, however.

Let me know if you guys (if anybody still reads this thread, ) have any questions on specifics, picture requests, or anything else.

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland- Granite

So, I FINALLY was able to order a replacement Jeep, which is detailed in my signature. They gave me a deal that we both considered very fair.

Yes, I went with the Summit this time -- I couldn't turn down the saddle interior (even though it is no longer called that, it looks the same). If this interior was available from the start, I never would have gotten an Overland. Some of the new features of the Summit will be appreciated, such as the HK stereo and the active noise cancellation. I will miss a few things about the Overland, however. I never did get to use them, but the removable air dam and the rock rails would have certainly eased my mind when off-roading. I still think the Overland looks better, but the Summit with the Platinum Series Group narrows the gap, and the extra features and the saddle interior on the Summit more than make up for the slightly-worse styling, at least in my case. I'll be posting a similar thread to this when the Summit arrives. Despite the issues, it's been a fun two-year ride, and I'll undoubtedly miss the Overland when it's gone.

Thanks for all of your questions, comments, advice, and support. In just a few weeks, I'll be starting all over again!
