2014 Laredo E "High Altitude"

I ordered a Granite Laredo E 4x4 with the ORA1 package, Security & Convenience, 18in wheel & 8.4in, and the Trailer Tow Group. After owning several JK's, I was immediately hungry to begin customizing the new baby hauler.

I started with the Coastal Tech CHR558 Lockpick V2

This allowed for the backup camera

the front camera

and Android Computer

Amazon.com: Etekcity« HDMI to AV Composite RCA CVBS Video + Audio Converter For TV PS3 VHS VCR DVD: Electronics
Amazon.com: Your Cable Store 1 Foot HDMI 1.4 HDTV Cable Gold Plated 28 AWG, Cat 2: Electronics

I then added the factory "slush" mats
Amazon.com: Genuine Jeep Accessories 82213686 Black Front and Rear Slush Mat - 3 Piece: Automotive
And this rear cargo protector
Amazon.com: K&H Quilted Cargo Cover, Gray: Pet Supplies

Next up was adding a set of factory 2014 Rubicon tires and wheels (including the spare). I then plasti-dipped all of the chrome including the roof rails, tail-light bezels, window trim, and emblems. After talking with xenon depot, I ordered and installed the full HID kit, 5000k.

For a little better look and front ground clearance, I installed the Rock Road leveling kit (I also removed those air deflector in front of the front wheels).

I was able to order an 8.4RA4 to replace the 8.4RA3 to add HD radio, 3d Nav, and XM Traffic Link

Lastly installed a "Summit" honeycomb grill to finish off the look.

I was able to do all the work myself, thanks to the help of this forum and users adding how-to's. I did find it was easier to install the headlamp kit with the bumper off.

Re: 2014 Laredo E "High Altitude"

Here are pictures of the front camera install. Its small, waterproof, and works well in low light. As far as running the wires, if you open the passenger door there is a body plug in the front lower door frame. Take off the interior kick panel and run a coat hanger through the foam insulation. Make a small hole in the body plug, and there you go. I cleaned it up with flexible wire conduit that I zipped tied in place on the inside of the body plug, so it wouldn't pull out. From there, you can run the wires (in the conduit) through the door jam into the engine compartment. I had to remove some of the screws attaching the fender liner. This doesn't interfere with the door at all.

Looks great! Any pictures of what your doing with the Android computer?

Also, when you took off the front air deflectors, what did you do with the wheel well liner? I was going to pull mine, but noticed there's a bit of liner that comes down a bit into the air deflector; didn't really want to cut it and didn't really want it flapping around in the wind

Re: 2014 Laredo E "High Altitude"

So I left off a big thing by mistake with the Android computer. I drive a lot for work and seem to constantly have conf calls. I primarily use to for Cisco Webex meeting and have the audio on my handsfree. There are some other good uses for it like Torque Pro from the Google Play Store. It allows for realtime OBD2 monitoring. To allow for internet access 100% of the time without paying Chrysler $40/mo I added an AT&T Unite to the rear of the vehicle with an external high-gain MIMO to boost the signal. With the Android installed the sky is the limit, Netflix, Hulu, etc. I just wouldn't recommend it while driving and watch your data plan. This is what is used in my setup

AT&T Unite - Mobile Hotspot from AT&T
NETGEAR 6000450 MIMO Antenna with 2 TS-9 Connectors - Newegg.com
Wireless Keyboard with Touchpad K400 - Logitech
http://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Avai...bluetooth+obd2

I also learned the hard way that the Android does not enjoy losing power every time the car shuts off (multiple full resets and data corruption). I remedied this by purchasing a 2.1amp usb car charger and plugging it into the port in the center console. Both the Android and the HDMI to AV converter are placed conveniently under the center area with the shifter and cup holders. If you use the particular Android computer/HDMI converter I bought, you don't even have to power the converter, it get enough juice over HDMI from the Android.

In the rear of the vehicle, I tapped into the 12v outlet back there and put in a 12v female outlet. I plugged in another 2.1amp usb car charger to power the Unite. This outlet is ignition switched but don't worry, the Unite has over a 15hr battery when not being used, so I have never run into the issue of it drying while the car is off.

Taking the front air deflectors off was no big deal, there is a little void you can only see while looking close over the front of the wheels. I have not noticed anything while driving such as vibration. Call me crazy, but I swear I am getting better MPG since removing them. I think my next project is removing the ones in front of the rear wheels.
