I picked up this JGC as a family hauler a few months back with our first child on the way. I was looking for a vehicle that could haul the three of us and our stuff as we frequently visit the in-laws, a 4 hours drive away. I also wanted it to look cool, have good driving dynamics and have four wheel drive for winter driving conditions, as we sometimes get 2-3 feet of snow in a single storm, so after test driving a few different mid size SUVs, the JGC it was!

The Canadian spec altitude comes with the all weather capability group which includes QTII, Select Terrain, hill descent control, heated front seats and steering wheel, front tow hooks and slush mats.

I plan on doing a few mods to it over the next little while:

Planned:

- HIDs (probably DDM Tuning kit)

- Eibach pro kit, when Bilstein finally makes front shocks for 2016+ MY

Done:

- Swap out Nivomat load levelling shocks for Bilstein 4600s

- OEM Spyder Monkeys (found a set locally for less $ than a set of reps!) I was looking at OEM as the roads are pretty bad up here and the strength of the forged wheels is a welcome attribute after having bent a few wheels in other cars I've had in the past.

Here she is as she sits currently:

Thanks! It's a little harder to keep clean than I thought it would be, but it does look great when it's shiny.

That's a nice looking neighborhood [emoji7]

Thanks! The developper does have fresh designs inside and out, and lots of young families too! It's also 4 miles away from the downtown core where I work, can't argue with a short commute. Here's some of that aforementioned snow :)

Nice ride!

Thanks! It'll have to do until I can get an SRT! :D

Thank you. The look of your Jeep is very clean. Did you consider the gloss black or black chrome when you got your wheels? I do like your silver wheels since almost everything aftermarket is black these days.

I wish we could get the Altitude with the all weather group in the USA. I would buy one in a minute if that was an option here.

Thanks! To be honest I was looking at all three types of finishes and was going back and forth between mostly hyper silver and black chrome.

The OEM altitude gloss black wheels were a royal pain to keep clean they were beautiful when clean but any little bit of water or dust would ruin the look so I was leaning towards silver.

The last nail in the coffin was that I found them for a third of the price locally ($800 vs $2700 for the black chrome).

The hyper silver is a nice contrast to the darker overall theme and paint, and still ties in with the front grille which is a metallic satin silver.

I was mostly getting these for the more agressive fitment and all comments have been positive so far.

Yes I did, I ordered the xenondepot kit and so far so good. I did have one of the headlights not light up in very particular situations (for example if I turn the engine off, and turn it back on after a few seconds sometimes only one headlight will come on) but that's very rare.

I may have gone for the DDM tuning kit if I had to buy again today to save a few bucks and I've never read any complaints of malfunctions with the DDM kit. Also the DDM's canbus module is integrated in the harness, whereas the xenondepot kit requires an additional connection - it plugs into the OEM harness and then plugs into the ballast - just another potential failure point IMO. That said, 27k km and no issues with the jeep or the mods so far!

I rarely venture out to Burlington but will keep you in mind and message if I ever go that way... Let me know if you have any other questions!

I definitely feel like the rear is less bouncy, more settled and more stable over bumps on the road. I clearly remember the rear jerking and what felt like shifting sideways when I was hitting bumps and that's definitely gone now. It still doesn't ride like a car obviously, but the stability has improved.

Overall for the few hundred bucks it costs to do this mod, definitely worth it. And quite easy to do yourself if you're even slightly mechanically inclined.

Hey bud. I ordered everything you listed for the bilstien shocks. Just wanted to verify that even though the part number 24-225427 (shocks) is for 11-15, that they did work on your 2017. Mine is identical to yours. Thanks. Looks great
