Just had the summit painted. It was in the body shop after having the front bumper backed into and the guy was my dads friend so he offered to paint all my Chrome trim for free. I told him to do my grill rings and fog lights bezels black and lower fascia and side/rear strips white to match the paint. The guy ends up painting everything white by mistake and it turned out pretty nice actually. Will be ordering 22x10 gloss black srt replicas as soon as I have some extra money
Another pic of the summit, had the wheels plasti dipped black with 2 coats of metallizer and 1 of glossiffier from before but it tore while pressure washing and had to peel it off it still might be a few weeks before I can order the srt reps so for now it looks like this. Also planning on getting lowering links as soon as i can find someone who ships the m5 22mm threaded rod to Canada (can anyone help with this??)
I plastidiped my plate holder this weekend as well. Is your plastidip close to your paint color or is it off like mine? I like that the holder doesn't stand out as much but not sure about the difference in whites.
Agree. No offense as your mods so far look awesome, but something about the plastidip plate cover cheapens the overall look. May just be me though, but it throws it off a bit.
Agreed, something about the holder didn't look quite right, which is why I plasti dipped it first to get an idea of how it will look. I removed the piece that covers the liscence plate and I feel it looks a lot better. I may eventually just get it paint matched by my body shop, what do you think? Does the white match close enough or does it need to be painted professionally?
Ordered some lowering links from JTS and theyll prob be here in a week or so. Will upload pics as soon as they're on!
I'm actually right there with you on the gloss black SRT reps. I've grown to dislike the 17 Summit wheels so will be quickly swapping them out withs some Spider Monkeys. Also hate the rake, so make sure to post some pics once you get those back springs put on ?
I think it would have looked great with the grille rings and bezels black like you had wanted, but it doesn't look bad all white. Since it's all white, I think the license plate mount looks much better white than black. It seemed out of place with everything else being white and the PD on that one piece matches just fine. I also agree that it looks better without the cover on the plate.
Lowered 1" all around with custom made lowering links made and sent to me by JTS97Z28. Sorry for the shitty pic I'll try to get some in better lighting next time!
That looks awesome! Exactly how the stance should be from factory. Wheels, tint, k&n drop in and rake removal are the only mods I plan for my 17 Summit. Would love to know how much those ran you.
Have you noticed any difference in the ride, handling, etc?
Yes you can make your own links for around $100. I'm making a lift set for mine (I know, you guys like them lowed but the process is the same), and I've got about $80-$90 into it.
And as you also noted, the only way I've found to adjust the height it via new links or an electronic unit that alters the sensors reading. That kit (made bay a guy in Australia IIRC), is about $300.
I would definitely keep the front badge Jeep logo. By the way, what was the color of the vehicle before it was painted all-white, By the way, what was the color of the vehicle before it was painted white?
Here's an update on the back, finally got a chance to wrap the taillight bezels and rear step gloss black. Just got a couple questions for you guys...
Should I
-paint match the rear plate of the jeep logo WHITE?(keep letters black)
-black out taillamps and 3rd brake light? (Already have the tint film, same as reflectors)
-debadge Ecodiesel?
Also a guy in my area is selling these wheels: Niche Milan 22x10 on toyo proxes St2 285/35/22
Adjust the left exhaust tip it's off a little. Leave the jeep logo black in the rear,it's just the right compliment to an already nice looking jeep with your other mods ?
