Good advice. My home dealer is honoring it on the vehicle I ordered yesterday, and 2 of the 3 out-of-state dealers I've spoken with will also honor it. The guy near Pittsburgh who wouldn't was at least polite about it...he said that $500 over invoice was his best offer due to local demand. The issue is that the control codes you get from the ChryCo affiliate website expire 12/31/10. However TL.org and ChryCo have both given me unofficial assurances that the program will continue into '11.

I received somewhat official confirmation (via an email) from TreadLightly that the program continues during 2011.

I didn't think that dealers had the ability to randomly choose to honor or not honor affiliate pricing? I called 5 different dealers around here when I was looking for a replacement car and all of them told me they honored it and it wasn't voluntary.

Interestingly enough, I told my dealer that I get affiliate pricing, they said NP, worked up the deal using the pricing but no where did they take us use my control code .

Just reporting my experience. Frankly I was not very surprised that a dealer who knew he could get more than affiliate price would try his best to maximize his profit, even if it meant bucking the affiliate program requirements.

My dealer welcomed the chance to extend FFP pricing to me, and said he'd take my order before I had a control code as long as I had one at the time of actual purchase. I took my control code and membership welcome letter in with me when I placed the order and he made copies of those docs. He then gave me a printout of my order showing what I would owe to the penny. However, in my case, he left off the $75 fee that's supposed to be attached to any deal under the affiliate program. I didn't realize this till hours after I had left the dealership. I didn't feel compelled to point this out, because to my surprise, he told me that they would be cashing my deposit check. Earlier he had told me that they would not tie my money up in this way. If the $75 comes up I'll pay it because that's what I signed up for. But I'm not going to volunteer this info, in exchange for his mini bait and switch.

yep make sense . I spoke with someone in Chrysler's affialiate program prior to buying my WK2 and she told me that dealers can't pick and choose if they want to honor affialiate pricing, they have to honor it.

I had a similar experiance as you, I went into the dealership I ended up purchasing from with 3 numbers, my affialiate price (with control code in hand), trade in value (from the previous WK2 order that I bailed on) and what I knew I was approved for with financing. No negioations, the only area they were unable to meet was the 1.9% from the NFCU but they ended up going with Bank of the West and getting me 2.5% which I was ok with.

Interestingly enough, they never took the control code paper from me and never entered it into any of the paperwork, they just saw I had it and adjusted the price to FFP.

BTW the original dealer that I orderd from had a Black WK2 on the lot they were pricing at $2999 above sticker because they said it was the only one in town ROFL...

Mashie, why'd you pass up the chance to go with the lower NFCU rate? Was it a Larry the Cable Guy moment ("git 'er done")? I'm researching my financing options but not killing myself over the rate since I plan to pay it off early. It's mostly for leverage when I go in to sit down with the F&I manager on the day of purchase.

Yep it was. I just wanted to get the entire thing done and over with and I didn't feel that .5% was a big enough deal to wait a few more days. Keep in mind, I only financed 18k and plan on paying it off by this time next year.

Re: Any saddle interiors out there ?

Was fortunate enough today to see an Overland with saddle in person. It really is nice! It almost has a "suede" quality to it. Having seen it in person I personally don't think it is worth the LONG wait for it on an order. Looks like I will be going with the Light beige/Dark frost. For those of you who are waiting I think you will be pleased. Now if I can just decide on the exterior color...

Re: Any saddle interiors out there ?

I was holding out and planned on ordering the Saddle interior, however after seeing it in person I was disappointed with how it turned out on the door trim . I thought i was going to go with Black interior/Natural green, but got a really good deal on a Natural Green/Frost Biege combo. I've had it for a almost a month and I'm very happy. It blows our BMW 528i x drive interior out the door!

Re: Any saddle interiors out there ?

My dealer just got this Black Overland in with saddle. It would have been mine but I'm holding out on the new 720n RHR so I'll have to wait. The first picture is the most accurate as far as color (on my screen). I turned off the flash and it was taken at dusk.

BONUS: The saddle leather interior is ALL leather and does not have the vinyl bolsters and middle section in the back that all the other GC interiors I've seen had.
