Curious to see if there are any saddle interiors out there yet. The race is on to see who will be the first. Whats your guess as to when the first will surface ?

Interesting google search:

saddle overland site:jeep.com/hostc/getWindowStickerPdf.do

You can see the google cache that 2 saddle interiors do exist with a VIN, but if you click the link, they seem invalid.

Holy Sh*t! Talongs went D1 today!!

N8Star, I'd be calling my dealer if I were you. Your order was placed at least a week before Talongs!

 Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into it.

Just spoke with the dealer and he confirmed a delivery now of 11/22. As I mentioned before I have some add-ons the dealer will be istalling. So to allow for this and the prep we agreed that I would pick it up on the morning of 11/23. Will let you all know if this indeed happens.

Insane! Ordered mine on 9/17 same, Overland 4x4 black saddle with tech package and I'm still not in D1 status yet. Mind boggling.

FrankTJ, did they give you an estimated ship/delivery date when you found out yours went D1? Can't believe a 10/25 order is already in D1 when, but glad to hear it. Still waiting for it on my 10/4 order.

gator33, you said they confirmed yours is built. What was your order date?

I think it has to do with the number of allocations a dealer gets. The more jeeps a dealer sells, the more allocations per month they get, the faster the orders move through their system. Each dealer gets only so many allocations (all based on volume). So if you order and they run out of allocations, you have to wait until they get another allocation for your order to go through. (Or at least that's what I was told from someone I know who works at a Jeep dealer).

X2^^^^. This is probably the confusion on orders and build schedule. A lot of people are having long waits for their new overlands.

I feared this happening to me. So I went to the dealer that I usually buy from, he's about 30 miles away out in a rural small town. This dealer moves mostly trucks in large volume and a small amount of plain jane versions of the other lines from chrysler. They "never" use the entire allotment given to them to "stock" the lot. They keep 2-3 of each vehicle in low to medium trim levels so the prices are low.

They had only gotten in 3 JGC's, all Laredos. His allotment for JGC's was much larger, not to mention he had placed no order for his allotted limiteds and overlands. I placed my order which went in as pre-sold on top of being one of his unrecieved allotment. 4 weeks and 2 days later I had my Overland. It wasn't anything that would cause a hold up like tech package or saddle so it ran through quickly and I'm extremely pleased.

I'm about to order another Overland, but wanted the saddle interior, so I've waited until saddle production has started. I called my dealer this week and he said that he hasn't placed any more orders since mine and that he still has several in his allotment which he hasn't ordered. This should make the next one build on about the same time frame I hope.

If your dealer keeps his lot heavily stocked without moving extremely high volume then he has filled his allotment with lot vehicles. This will slow even a pre-sold order to that dealer.

Interesting info parker, thanks for sharing. While it doesn't make any more sense to those of us who ordered 7-11 weeks ago and still aren't even in D1, it is the total lack of information that is the most frustrating. I'm in the DC Metro area, so that doesn't seem to be the cause. Guess I should've gone with a smaller dealer with less inventory, but honestly never occurred to me that it could cost me several more weeks of waiting for my car.

Our condolences.

Still bored waiting so I put the Summit "Black Olive" wood trim in my virtual Saddle Overland. I like the change.:p

I second that.

I don't understand why my jeep is still not yet scheduled, stuck in D1 status. This is awful. Its starting to get cold here and I really want to have this truck long before any snow drops. I can't believe its not even being built yet and I ordered it at the end of September. At least start building it already. Sigh

Don't feel so bad. There are some of us that ordered mid sept and are "Sorry sir, you are not scheduled at this time", as i was told yesterday.

Got a call from the dealer today and was told I've been moved back to "c" from "d". Not looking good for me.....I was firm schedule now sub firm. Great.

My dealer shows that I went from D1 back to D, but according to Milous, I'm still on for assembly by 11/30, and delivery 12/12. Who knows....

My dealer shows that someone who ordered the same vehicle as me on 11/11 (I order 9/18) except that I'm saddle and he is black interior, is D1 while I'm back to D. Makes me think there is a problem with saddle now. Jonesark, does your order have saddle interior?

I wonder if its possible to change your order from Saddle to something else? I know if I do that, the second I do it saddles will start rolling in.

Although I did not order until end of September, I have been trying to get this Overland since May or June. It's taking way too long. If Chrysler wants to succeed they should open up another plant or something. Maybe they are doing this to help increase demand, sort of like around Christmas time when its hard to get certain toys?

They know that this kind of demand won't last forever, they probably have capacity about right once thing simmer down from launch and the Durango has been on the market awhile as well. No point in seriously ramping up production if you are just going to have to scale it back down in a years time.
