Re: Beach bound

Need a pass, 1 year is 90$ I believe. Only 145 cars on the beach at once. Have to air down and need a shovel/jack. Fills up quick on the weekends but weekdays you can set up with no one in sight :-)

Re: Beach bound

Spent last weekend on Stockton Beach in Oz.
Sand was soft in some areas but the Jeep in Sand mode handled it without drama.
Tyres were let down to 20psi (although I've read posts on here saing they let them down to 10-12). Didn't use 4WD low at all.

These three Chinese girls overestimated the capability of their Subaru it seems.

Limited dates during year or is it year round? Have not been there in many years

Re: Beach bound

Haha bigger boat, soft sand here too, Subaru our backs and foresters can make it, never seen a wrx, I bet they felt silly!

Silver max, open year round but closes for a few weeks for turtles or birds mating or something like that, can't remember exactly when. Should start to quiet down now that school will be starting. And they allow fires on the beach, nice way to finish up a chilly surf session!

I was up that way too last weekend - did you go in via Lavis Ln or the Anna Bay end?

Re: Beach bound

As I was staying at Bays Holiday Park on Port Stephens Drive, was easier to go in at the Anna Bay end.

Was there for the fishing as well as get the beast on the sand. No fish. Plenty of sand LOL.

One day headed south to the Sygna but highh tide stopped me a few k's down the beach.

Got an annual pass so will be back.

When my kids were young, used to camp on Stockton a lot. Loved it.
No camping there now. Bugger!

Was up again the last couple of days and went in the Anna Bay entrance, went up the the Cygna and then the few k's back to the Williamstown exit to Lavis Lane.

The exit was VERY soft sand but the beast handled it very well.

Seas very pretty rough and it was windy but fished for a while with no luck.
Even so, it was great being there with the fighter jets doing low altitude passes along the beach and also a couple of trotters (horses) and buggies doing their training up and down the beach.
