Before and After Katzkin leather upgrade

Recently purchased a 2012 Laredo E Package and dealer included a heated leather katzkin seat upgrade, as part of the deal. Here are some before shots from the dealer;

Here some after shots after picking it up today:

Well I am very pleased with the Katzkin product. I think it's quite an improvement from the original cloth. The quality of the leather is very high, nicer then the Laredo X leather IMO. The dealer sent it out to Automotive Concepts in Horsham, PA for installation. It's also covered by the 3/36K warranty.

Looks great! I want leather but I'm afraid I'd get stuck to it here in AZ

That really looks like a job well done. Very nice upgrade.

Nice. I like the gathered look. I just had Katzkin installed on my 2008 and it came out great, like yours. I can't explain the difference, but it feels (while seated) much nicer than the factory leather (maybe its the Suedezkin inserts). I'd never spend extra for factory leather again, I'd go Katzkin.

Very nice upgrade. Looks OE, but higher quality.

Looks great, nice upgrade. A friend of mine changes SUV's every couple of years. He always installs Katzkin.

Re: Before and After Katzkin leather upgrade

Thanks for all the positive comments. I've been driving around with it for a week now and it's change my whole perception of the vehicle. I find the seats much more comfortable as well as the leather seems to be thicker then the cloth which adds some additional padding. I have found any issues with the installation, it really looks OEM.

As for cost, I'll say that the dealer started out at $1999 for the leather and front heated seats. By negotiating it into my purchase I paid much less. The seat heater parts from mopar are about $300 and the dealer told me their cost on the leather was $900 installed (sub'd out to Automotive Concepts in Horsham, PA)... as such I figure $1200 would be a good price (I paid even less). Their cost may even be lower due to volume discounts.

Re: Before and After Katzkin leather upgrade

Is that blue leather? I used to work at a dealer and dealt with this. You got a great deal. We sent it out to be installed tho. We didn't do it right at the dealership.

Re: Before and After Katzkin leather upgrade

That looks great, and I intended on doing this. I really can't stand most of the color combos they put in the WK's, but a buddy of mine swears they aren't leather. Is he talking out of his rear again?

No, it's black... I think it's just the reflection of the True Blue vehicle onto the leather that makes it seem blue.

He is partially correct. First off, Katzkin makes 3 different levels of seat covers, I don't recall the marketing names for it but lets just say it's low, middle and high. I used the low level product. This product has real leather used for the seat sides/bolsters, but the seating and back surface is actually a high quality synthetic/vinyl. The upper level products include more real leather. The theory with this low level product is the synthetic material is more durable then the leather so they use it for the surfaces that your body regularly contacts. If you look SUPER close you can see the grain pattern is a little to perfect to be real leather but nobody would know if I didn't tell them.

I've got 8,000 miles on the vehicle and custom interior now, absolutely no problems and it's wearing great. Still very pleased. The seat heaters have been very nice now that it's gotten colder.

Re: Before and After Katzkin leather upgrade

That's actually why I stayed away from the OE leathers they always crack, or fade. So it makes sense to me why they did that, and I like the idea.
