Re: Black Interior on Overland

I hope yours is correct. Mine is on order and and I think in the long run, I'll like it better with a little less contrast.

Re: Black Interior on Overland

None of the black Overland's I've seen have the gray stitching, just the gray piping on the seats. They look very good in person. I think the gray stitching wouldn't look good and I think it looks cheesy in the stock photo, probably why it was changed prior to production.

Re: Black Interior on Overland

+1 to the Black Oland interior. I originally wanted Saddle but didn't have the patience to wait and "settled" for Black. It really is sharp.

^The stock photo greys out both the black leather and the stitching with the extra lighting. It really is black stitching on black leather with little to no contrast, though it may be a tad lighter than the black Oland logo stitching. The only real contrast is the grey Oland piping.

Some prior photos here: Question Re Interior Color Options

That is great to know!!! What about the stitching on the dash? Hopefully it is black as well.

Stitching on the Overland leather dash is gray and is an understated and tasteful complement to the piping and gray headliner that comes in that interior color combo. It does not jump out at you. It just looks right in a way that professional designers are able to accomplish.

FWIW, I have fairly conservative tastes in this area; nothing garish or "look at me" would appeal. When I first sat in the black Overland cockpit (and every time since), I was able to look around with a sense that they got it right at least for my preferences.

No one should bother trying to convince someone else that one color is better than another, unless there is a mission-critical basis, i.e.:

1. Operating in a very sunny and hot environment (lighter color may make sense)

2. Running stealth/night ops (darker color may be preferable)

3. Wife prefers a particular color (whatever the hell she wants, she gets)

Etc.

There is great wisdom above, esp. #3

Two JGCs ago, I had a black interior and I absolutely loved it - October through April. Unfortunately, Phoenix summers are relentless and there was a noticeable difference in the amount of heat absorbed by the interior, even with the usual defenses (windshield shade, tint). That's one of the reasons I went with Saddle this time - especially since I am buying a darker exterior.

Re: Black Interior on Overland

Thanks for the info. I'm glad to know it is understated. The stock pic had me a little worried, as it looks almost like white stitching. A little too much for my taste. Hopefully just 2 more weeks and I can see it for myself!!!!

Re: Black Interior on Overland

As you can see from the attached image, the picture above and what it looks like in person are quite different. I wouldn't have ordered it if the stitching was as contrasting as it looks in the first picture above.

Something about that first photo didn't seem right. That stitching looks like some kind of fresh hell. It looks like it was stitched with sweater yarn or was Photoshopped in to give it more emphasis.

The only contrasting stitching on my Overland black leather interior is on the dash, and it is nowhere near as gawdawful as that first photo. In fact, it looks great.
