Re: Black Olive Ash Burl Wood Trim photos

I just realized that I would have to swap out the steering wheel as well, and with the price of the airbag and all it wouldn't be fiscally responsible.

Re: Black Olive Ash Burl Wood Trim photos

I have the black ash wheel (my brother works for the steering wheel supplier) but it was made without the tan stitching that the Summit Edition has. Now just to piece together the trim.

The dealer shows one door panel for $400... No.

Searching around I have found an OEM supplier that has a price on the 3 IP parts (over the glove box and both sides of the steering wheel) for about $250. I am waiting to hear back from them on a price for the door panels.

I also have an overland wheel so I'm trying to find a set of that trim as well. I prefer the black wood but if the overland is cheaper i will go that route. And then of course sell my Limited wood trim on ebay.

Another option I thought of would be to wait a while and start checking junk yards for Overland wrecks (i know that is very unlikely but that my be a way to get most of the trim for a decent price)

So this wood is just the real version of the blackish "wood" in my Laredo? I really like the look of the black woodgrain and it would be awesome if it was on the wheel as well.

The wood in the laredo is kind of a grayish black. The summit edition is more of a solid black with a hint of silverfish burl to it. I agree...if the steering wheel in the Laredo had wood that matched the trim it would be sweet! I actually like the color of the Laredo trim the best.

Did you have any luck finding all of the real black wood trim pieces? Is it the black wood trim from the Summit you are/were looking for?

Re: Black Olive Ash Burl Wood Trim photos

Man, I love that Summit wood trims and leather set combo. Unfortunately, I can't get that Summit model here in Korea.

Overland wood trim is nice but my front passenger door side panel was warped few weeks ago since it's real wood and I had the dealer replace it. They had to remove the whole door panel to install wood trim.

BTW, does Summit model come with different instrument lighting? They look like little more of purplish blue from the earlier pic.

One of the reasons i went with the Laredo X is the interior wood. I'm not a huge fan of light wood interiors - I actually thought the limited looked cheaper inside.

And one of the reasons I went with the Limited was because of the color of the "wood". It is not black. I reminds me of... well...wood. Kind of a British luxury look. I respect your opinion. To each his own.
