Drone shots were from a Phantom 3 4k, but it crashed the weekend of 4/15. It decided to return home by itself and ran into trees. Unfortunately with all the rain Northern California has received over the winter, crossing the river to try and find the drone was not an option. Later this summer I plan to go see if I can find it lol. I am still undecided to replace it with another Phantom 3 Advanced or go with a Phantom 4.
As for still shots, 95% of the time it is a Canon 6d with Sigma 35 ART.
The mattress inside the tent is a full size mattress (I bought an eggcrate to put under the supplied mattress, and full size was the exact fit)

Other updates:
1. I purchased some OEM black emblems and VHT tail light spray to start with blacking out the back of the car.
2. Eagle Eye headlights, black rings, and black honeycomb will be purchased within the next couple weeks to complete front black out
3. Still undecided on which direction to go for a lift. RRO 2.5/bilsteins/Eibach
4. Holding off on new tires/rims until I run through the stock tires (currently at 26k)
Can you post some general locations with your photos? Awesome shots. Those mountain shots look like hell with the fires put out but still a pretty view. Parts of Colorado I visited was like that, trees scattered and 20 ft. tall. I stuck my four wheeler on a little bush that was no bigger around than a pencil and lifted all four tires off the ground. Wasn't over 18" tall. Somebody called it ironwood. Tough stuff.
Starting with the 1st picture in the 1st post and working down.
1. Alabama Hills. Lone Pine, CA
2. King Range Wilderness (4/15)
3. Alabama Hills
4. Glacier Point, Yosemite
5. King Range Wilderness
6. Arnold, CA (9/17/16)
7. Olympic Peninsula
8. North Cascades
9. North Cascades
Feet pictures:

3. Alabama Hills
4. King Range (dog)
5. Arnold, CA
Next big road trip is North Cascades to Glacier NP to Yellowstone NP to Grand Teton NP to Salt Flats to home (SF).
Added black Jeep and 4x4 emblems and a black license plate frame. Next weekend will be spray tinting the taillights and plasti dip the chrome taillight bezel.
Also purchased a set of brand new eagle eye's from a member today, so need to order black rings and black honeybomb so I can remove the front bumper and do it all at once.

Anyone have experience with recovery tracks? I am looking at the Speedmaster or Maxsa. Both seem to get really good reviews with Maxsa having more information available. Speedmaster is kind of local with being in Southern California and have a 1 year warranty.
Penny. 3.5 years old. We adopted her at 10weeks old from a family that decided it could no longer care for her. They said shes a Labradoodle, I don't think she is the typical 50/50 mix, looks to be more of a labradoodle and lab mix. She is always happy and no body of water is safe around her. Favorite spot : trunk of the jeep. Ball is life for her.
Up around 9-10k feet
35mm film. In her "spot". (this was in the Compass)
Bailey. 6.5 Years old. "Frenchton". Half french bulldog and half boston terrier. Typically find her cuddled up on my wife's lap. Might look like she is always sleeping, but she is always alert and on guard.
Her life:
Few random pics of the jeep
My buddy started a clothing brand, "selfie" of me in the tent
Not my favorite photo, but this was taken back in July on the weekend the forest fires in Big Sur started.
Shot on 35mm film on the first weekend I bought the wk2
35mm film. Washington
Hurricane Ridge. This is the photo that made me realized I had to tint the front windows ASAP lol
Coming back down a forest road in Washington. Early morning
Thanks! Plenty more to come. Have a 3k mile road trip coming up. Driving up to the North Cascades in Washington then off to Montana to meet my wife (flying in from SF). From there we do Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Salt Flats.
All Night, well at least the awake part, I kept wondering about How / If the RTT affects the Performance of the 8.4" Radio ! Mine is a 2016 and has the shark-fin antenna .
In Regular &/or Serius-XM mode .
ALSO wondering, IF you have a Tablet/iPad (wifi + Verizon), how OnLine performance is /isn't affected .
I ASK, because I plan on buying an iPad and downloading one of the gps mapping APPS available on iTunes Store . Along with Google Earth on or off-Line, the Combo should "get the job done" !? Any experience ?
AND Last, that GOBI ladder install; do it yourself or . . . ? IS it STURDY and SECURE, holding your weight . . . ? Toying with that instead of using the AIRTOP Ladder !?
Thanks BRAD908 . appreciation by FlyFinaticLou .
I haven't had any issues with interference for radio and I use a separate XM device which has the antenna on the front of the car.
I usually just use my iPhone for offline maps, haven't tried anything with my iPad's yet. Might look into other options for the upcoming summer road trips though.
I don't really recommend the ladder. It is super simple to install and very sturdy, but the ladder that comes with the RTT is much easier to climb. I've only been using the Gobi on solo trips and will sometimes climb it to get a little higher of a view point for photos.
Brad, there was a TV show a few years ago, (I watched on YouTube) called 'Hunting With Hank', a (setter), but another similar show with a Griffon (?) - very similar to your big "Buddy," reminded me of that sporting dog show !
Confused ? Change topic - to - another RTT / FrontRunner RAIL question . As you know, the OEM flush rails only allow for about a 31"/32" separation of a crossbar system such as Thule or Yakima . WHAT is the Separation of the FrontRunner CrossBars (center slot to center slot) ? AND, have / had you noticed a difference in NOISE from the OEM to the "F.R." LoadBar system (without the Baroud on) ?
Thanks Brad (in advance) and did I mention . . . Nice Photographic Work ?
cannot wait for you to finally do the DMM hids and eagle eye headlights... you won't have issues in the woods at night anymore...Let me know when you do the install ill assist on the phone or ft :slapfight:
keep up the work on roadtrips (time for new rims and tires )
Few things delivered this past week. Speedmaster tracks, headlights, and honeycomb grill. HID kit hopefully delivers this coming week so I can install everything next weekend.
Darn those hazy-mornings . . . ! Hey, though not as Photogenic as the Apple OS version, now I have an idea of what to expect if I get down to see it 1st hand . Kinda reminds me of all the other "scenic-overlook" pull-overs along places like the Grand Canyon, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone Park . . . please don't tell me if there is a pretzel or hot dog stand in the parking lot ! Before your time, Joni Mitchell sang her words of wisdom about "Put(ing) Up A Parking Lot" ! Seems like everywhere we turn there is an endless variety of these "wonders" - hmm, are they sustainable ? Shame on me for being so critical, they do serve a valuable purpose for those who otherwise couldn't get to see these places 1st hand !
I just wish the "builders" could make them a bit less "obvious" ! Well that's my "commentary" for the year (I hope) !
ps; thanks for the ladder tip, and will be looking (soon!) for the measurement . FlyFinaticLou
Lol thankfully no hot dog stand at Tunnel View. Yosemite like most national parks, it is very easy to be in the busy crowds but also very easy to walk even just a quarter mile away and be completely alone.
Hopefully I will remember to take those measurements tonight!

Weather wasn't ideal over the weekend for photos, too sunny, but was great to just sit around and enjoy the views.
Some ducks swimming in the Yosemite Falls reflection
BRAD - no need for the Front Runner measurements any longer . . . seems Brian, the CEO, made the "corporate" decision to No Longer Offer the WK2 Load Bar Kit w/ rails, just a few short weeks ago ! It is no longer on the website (he & I exchanged emails last week), and Wil (CEO of Sierra Expeditons) verified when I went to place the order last week). That has just about "depressed" Me cause All my other decisions on how to proceed with My Overlanding trip(s) centered around having THAT to carry "stuff" safely & securely. BUT, after visiting 'THESKIINGJEEP' TREAD & website, I will now look into UNEEK & see what they have! GOBI's are nice but they are heavy and not quite what I prefer! MY 'Show & Tell . . .' thread has slipped off page 1 and seems to be fading . . . any chance you could slip a few camping style pics and commentary on their to perhaps peek some renewed interest until I can get back out with some of my own ?
Hey GOV., yea it IS kinda - something the "youngsters" might take a liking to, too !
They say 12" ! Don't say that in a crowd, unless you can "back it up" with "the-rest-of-the-story" ! ha ha ha !
With a few Fabricated Mods. - such as having a Max Swiveling Hitch Coupler put on, and another way to store the spare . . . Oh and I decided to go with the 120 volt ZAMP Solar Folding Portable Panel since the TM already is fitted with Their Connector !
Here I am talking like I have it, still waiting (3 days; must be the holiday?) for a response of my email inquire ! (B&B RV of Denver) Stay Safe . . . FlyFinaticLou
1. I got a flat tire while out on forest roads. Ended up going to a GoodYear in Seattle and they put on 4 wrangler all terrain adventure Kevlar tires. Hate that this only happened at 28k miles on the stock tires, as I wanted to do a lift/rims/tires all at once.
2. There is much more to the Front Runner loadbar kit I found out....
Bradley? . . . naughty boy, holding out on this ole' lame-duck.
Are you writing a new "suspense thriller"? . . . I found out . . . . . . (more to follow?) . . .
Yes, I know . . . (psst. . . . I have "connections" too) - perhaps not as in-depth as you, one never knows all your "secrets" (or mine!).
F.R.'s CEO is "rethinking" the (poor) decision to end production of IT. I'd like to think WE (you & I) may of had some input in the "reconsideration"!
I also made the suggestion they consider becoming a Vendor Here (I goofed and used the word - sponsor), and to Promote IT using WK2's on their website.
As you know, they have NO WK2 promo pics, choosing to only show the Wrangler! Poor Decision! Kinda difficult to sell AnyThing without Promoting It! SO, maybe I'll have the opportunity yet? Doesn't change my New Other decisions - about towing, but a (the) rack would still have many uses.
And the saga continues . . . . . . . . !
