Are there any pics of this kit from black ops? I tried searching the post of the group buy they had on this previously awhile back here for this kit but the pictures were taken down. Just curious of the quality of the kit.

I've seen other so-called srt kits, bumper/ full body but the material, design and quality was questionable. it's too bad they stopped offering those kits I'm thinking maybe it was just too soon to bring it out?... im sure a lot of 2014 and above wk2's owners would love to see a kit like that again.

Re: CG27519 2012 Altitude

very nice Jeep. Looks a lot like mine. Its odd how the RR0 2.5 full lift looks almost identical as my Tough Country load leveling and my 0.75" tj coil spacer in the back. I would be curious tu measure the height between yours and mine

Thanks! Yeah, what are yours? I measured mine a few weeks ago but want to measure again to see if the suspension has settled at all. I'm road tripping to upstate NY next week if you wanna meet up

Re: CG27519 2012 Altitude

Looks great after the lift and new tires, CG27519!

I'd just get some black lug nuts, but besides that, the old Altitudes are my favorite style. Especially lifted and with rock rails.

Thanks! I thought about the black lugs, but I kind of like how the chrome ones break up the black of everything else on there.

Re: CG27519 2012 Altitude

Just drove ~600 miles through the mountains in VA and PA from Raleigh to Rochester and averaged about 19-20 MPG. With the lift and tires I was really surprised. Practically no road noise and handled like a champ. 10/10 would recommend this combo to anyone.

Once I get back home, I'll need to redo the window trim. I plasti-dipped it about 2 years ago and it's starting to chip and the chrome is showing through in spots. It's a long process with taping and outlining the trim, but I can make it look great for super cheap.

Re: CG27519 2012 Altitude

I'll be headed up into the Smoky Mountains - Pigeon Forge specifically - for a long weekend in about a month. It'll be my first time up there but would love to hit a few basic trails, nothing crazy. I've been looking a little but didn't see anything within an hour. Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: CG27519 2012 Altitude

Spent the weekend just outside of Gatlinburg - didn't get around to searching for any trails but explored a few spots, nothing too exciting.

Weather was great until yesterday when there was freezing rain and sleet. It made the 2 hour drive back east through the mountains interesting (the remaining 3 1/2 ish was on flat highway) - we must have seen at least 15 cars/trucks/SUV's off in the ditch.

The KO2's handled the ice great, I never slipped or slid once on any of the hills or back mountain roads, and we had to get way off the beaten path as the main interchange through the mountain was closed. Overall very happy.

Re: CG27519 2012 Altitude

Spent about 2 hours on Saturday washing/waxing the Jeep in an attempt to battle the pollen. Came out well I think! Also re-applied Rain-X on the windshield. That stuff is magic.

Re: CG27519 2012 Altitude

Spent the memorial day weekend driving down and back from Decatur, AL from Raleigh, NC.

For anyone curious, averaged about 17.5-18 mpg on the way down - through the mountains. That included 2 people and a fair amount of cargo (2 saws, baggage, some other misc stuff) along with the lift and tires etc on the Jeep.

On the way back we towed a 12x6 uHaul trailer filled with to the brim with furniture and a fridge. Not the heaviest we could have packed it in, but it was definitely full. No idea what the weight came in at. We opted to go around the mountains on the trip back and averaged about 12mpg. Not terrible considering the size of the trailer.

This was my first experience towing a larger trailer, and at times I forgot it was back there. No complaints here!
