Re: Clay bar and wax - (Pix)

My WK2 needed the claybar treatment badly when I took delivery. I think rail dust was the culprit.

I have been using Zaino products and they rock. (converted from Meguiars)

Meguiars makes great stuff, too. (love their Scratch X and Tech Wax)

Let's see those pics.

Re: Clay bar and wax - (Pix)

My WK2 is sitting patiently in the garage awaiting my return. i specifically purchased a porter cable and new clay to take extra special care of my baby. Going to wash, clay, and seal with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant! Can't wait.

Re: Clay bar and wax - (Pix)

I added Black Fire Wet Diamond to my regimen and must say out of all the waxes and such I have used over the years, hands down best stuff I've came across by far. Great Stuff!

Re: Clay bar and wax - (Pix)

Nice job raider91e!!!

Make sure you put on a coat of polish, then a coat of wax as claying totally strips off any polish/wax that was on there. Leaving your paint naked and vulnerable!

hey, thanks man. yeah i put on some Nu Finish on it afterwards. i love the stuff, in about a month I'm going to wash and apply it again. it really helps to protect the paint from the elements and worked great on my dad's 03 pilot. we always used Nu Finish ever since we bought it. Through rough weather and long road trips, all the car really needed after 8 years was claying and a new coat of Nu Finish and the paint still had a mirrored shine like we just rolled it off of the lot 8 years ago. highly recommended.

On another note... i wonder if anyone knows any other products that really give the paint that "liquid" look? shiny and clean is nice but, i want my JGC to look like a beast covered in black ink by the time I'm done with it.

Re: Clay bar and wax - (Pix)

Try AutoGlym Super Resin Polish. That's what I used after claying my WK2. It totally blew me away at how gorgeous it makes the paint and how it beads water. I highly recommend it!!!

Since you have a black vehicle, try Black Magic Liquid Wax. Great stuff.

Nice job, looks great. Mothers is my choice as well. I see that you got your WK2 from Teterboro Jeep on Rt 46. I got my 1998 ZJ there years ago, now sold of course and loving my WK2 I purchased from RT 46 Jeep in Little Falls. I live in Rutherford, where are you?
