Eh, maybe I was too "sensitive" . . . but I tend to think the term used was more indicative of a "freak show" connotation. At least that was the response we had to it. "Meaty hands" read more like . . . "manly hands" with the overall tone of your comment. LOL That's what I get for being English Major Pixy.

Silver04, I don't think it's me who needs to read the whole thread. I am the OP.

But we're not here to talk about hands all day, this is a CAR forum! Let's have a positive experience with my first thread on JG.

We had a health scare with my poodle on Saturday, so we weren't able to contact the dealer before they closed. No updates yet.

Re: Do Your Seats Look Like This?

Alright, I have an update.

We feel much better after speaking with the dealer from whom we purchased our Overland. The dealer is a two hour drive or so away from us, so we emailed pics and consulted via phone. (We also have an issue with our radio -- USB drives (several) aren't detected in either the radio or console ports.)

Basically, the service technician assured us (well, husband) that while we're under the first 12 months/12,000 miles, they will make sure we're happy. Even if the leather stretching is considered somewhat "normal", it will be replaced. Which makes me feel a whole lot less stress about our first brand spankin' new car!

Our plan at this point is to wait. I figure I've sat in my passenger's seat for 3/4 of the accumulated 476 miles on the odometer, and mine is still as tight as the proverbial drum. Neither of us slides into the seats -- we use the installed rails because it's too high for me even in "Park" mode.

We have a road trip coming up in the next few months, and I want to see if my (passenger) seat performs similarly to his when I am in it for the 12-hour haul home. Or if his proceeds to get worse, OR if this was just an initial breaking-in and it stops there.

Either way, it's a documented issue on our service record, and I have a feeling that we'll end up getting his seat "fixed" before the initial 12 months are up. Perhaps we're too trusting, but they've inspired a certain confidence that the other dealers between here and there did not. RELIEF! Woohoo!

Gee, for a 12-hour trip, wouldn't you do some of the driving, thus placing him in the passenger seat for part of that time? I would think that that would be useful information - if he's bigger/heavier than you, perhaps he's harder on the seats. So if he gets extended time in the passenger seat, and it starts showing the same issue ... Don't let him use the Jeep anymore

LOL, probably a good experiment, but driving his new Jeep? Anathema!

Husband is ultra-Southern Gentleman . . . I don't carry anything, I don't dare open doors, and I definitely am not driving if he is present.

Would be a good way to tell, though.

Thanks again, everyone, for chipping in with feedback about your seats.

Re: Do Your Seats Look Like This?

My Saddle/Black interior (Drivers seat) is experiening the very same wrinkle, on both seating area and back. 1,800 miles. I plan to point this out to service dept.

I'm interested in knowing what your dealer says when you take it in, please let us know.

Re: Do Your Seats Look Like This?

Just read this post today and my driver's seat has same wrinkle. I was very annoyed by it and I an now going to show dealer and get fixed too. I know they might think I'm high maintenance by for $45K I don't care.

Now if they could just get the USB and travel link fixed I woukd be happy!

Re: Do Your Seats Look Like This?

pixyprincess, I will keep you and the rest posted regarding my dealers feedback. I am friendly with the owner. Plus, this is my 5th GC Jeep through them. They entire Service and Parts Departments know me well. They are very good to work with. I just find it odd the Saddle seat material is behaving in this manner.

Re: Do Your Seats Look Like This?

It seems to be a bit looser in the perforated panels. I was thinking perhaps for the ventilated feature??? Would have to compare to non-saddle seats.....
