Re: Finally got some new tires

That does look really good, I am really starting to like the looks of those 20" wheels. Mine still has the stock 17's which I think are about a boring as you can get. Even a Dodge Dart has cooler wheels than the Grand Cherokee Laredo.

Quick question for the experts on this forum - does changing tire size like this risk any warranty coverage - either the base warranty or the Chrysler service contracts?

Thanks
John

There is a risk of Chrysler denying a warranty claim based on larger tires. I think it will come down to the dealership you go to and what exactly you are having fixed. I run the same tires as the OP in the same size but if I were to bring it in for a drivetrain related issue I might get a cheap set of wheels and throw those on with stock sized tires just so they can't deny anything. I may be over thinking it though.

Re: Finally got some new tires

Are you running those with the QL at max height or normal driving height? It looks great, but I don't want to put those on if it compromises the life of the QL. Thanks

Re: Finally got some new tires

I run about 95% in Normal Ride height, no problems.

Re: Finally got some new tires

Looks great!! BEST COLOR EVARR!!!!! Why did they stop making that? I had a Deep Slate 98 ZJ kind of that color. I am thinking of throwing some Silent Armors on mine before the snow comes.

Re: Finally got some new tires

NB - your jeep looks awesome. I have a couple of questions. Do you have wheels spacers on that? They seem to sit out from the wheel wells, is that just the bigger tires?
Also, do you have a level kit on that? It doesn't seem to slant down like the stock look.

Thanks man! No spacers, I think its just the 275 tire in place of the oem 265 making them look a little wider. Also the aggressive shoulder on the coopers I think gives it that look.

Nope, no level kit, although the quadra lift suspension does a pretty good job of leveling things out. I think a couple of those pics are in OR1.

Thanks man. I'm beginning to wonder if we're just going to skip winter this year. It has been bone dry and warm down in the Springs.

A little update on the tires:
The shop set them at 34-35psi when they were mounted, and I drove at this pressure for about a week. I was noticing a sort of sluggish feel to them when coasting, like a higher than usual rolling resistance. It was just slight difference, but a noticeable feeling of not rolling as efficiently at a coast. Of course logic would tell you if they don't roll as well when coasting, they are going to cost more fuel when applying power. Well, a couple of days ago I went up to 38psi all around and this effect is gone, they feel no diff than the Forteras now in this regard, so I suspect I was riding on the edges somewhat. So for anyone else out there running these, so far 38 seems to be sweet spot for me. I plan to give them a chalk test in the next couple of days to see if they're nice and flat.

I've noticed the same thing. Might have to bump mine up a couple pounds as I'm at 35-36 and see how it goes.
