following the formula

There's a pattern of mods that seems to be fairly popular. I dig the look so at the risk of being a little unoriginal, I'm taking the same path.

So far-
  • debadged the hood
  • 275/55/20 Cooper Discoverer ATP
  • Bora 1.25" spacers.
  • Removed little flaps on lower facia

Yet to come-
  • debadge doors
  • RRO Leveling kit (shipped today)
  • RRO Super Sliders
  • Tow Hooks

2012 Altitude- 3.6, nav, tow group, and sunroof. Purchased fall '14 with 30,000 miles. Cleanest used car I've ever seen. We had bought my wife a '14 laredo one year earlier and I really wanted my own. This replaced a '08 patriot I had purchased new and rode hard for 280,000 miles. I'm down to 600 miles a week from the 1,000+ I used to put on the Patriot; I hope for a similar trouble-free lifetime out of the GC.

Re: following the formula

Hey man - looks great.

I have a 12 Altitude with factory tow too - we got stuck with the nivomat load leveling shocks in the rear - any rattles from the rear of your Jeep ?

No, I haven't had any noises from the rear. I they need replaced though, I'm at 70,000 miles.

Interesting. Consider yourself lucky. I will tell you , if you do replace them, check into Bilstein replacements as opposed to the OEM part.

Re: following the formula

Did you have any issues with the OEM wheels and the 1.25" spacers? I've read from multiple sources that 1.25" spacers require trimming but the 1.5" spacers don't. I've got the same 2012 altitude wheels and would prefer the 1.25. Looking good by the way.

Yes, you have to trim the studs to fit the 1.25" spacers behind the '12 altitude wheels. Not a lot, though, maybe 4-5 threads. I used a grinder with a cut off wheel.

Basically- removed stock rim, put the new nuts on the stock studs, cut the studs, removed the new nuts, installed spacers, checked with a straight edge that the studs didn't stick out further than the end of the spacer, and put the wheel back on.

Thanks to all for the compliments.
