Re: Got my Rugged Brown Summit!

WOW it looks wonderful and the brown is in the tops for sunshine colors.
I was wondering if they gave you a little off for the door ding that you have allready?

Sucks to have to work. I have been doing that for two weeks now and have only seen my black Pearl at night going and coming from work and at distance from the window in my office.

LOL. That third picture is full of reflections - no door ding yet! Somebody (one of the detailers?) did put a mark on my headliner though. I'm going to see if it can be cleaned off.

I did manage to get out of here (work) for dinner. The wife and I and two friends buzzed a few exits up the interstate to go celebrate. Now I'm back hunkered down working (except that I seem to be spending time in this forum instead )

Anyway - initial impressions are still great. Our friends loved the ride. My wife and the other female sat in the back seat and reported it was extremely comfortable.

On the way to the restaurant, I remembered to put the Jeep in park mode and the gals really liked the reduced step down. I forgot to do that when we dropped our friends off though -- I'm going to have to acquire a habit of hitting the park button when at low speed preparing to park.

FYI - The rear seats recline a bit....nice feature that I didn't even know about until had some passengers in the back during first day rides...

I had read about it but never planned to sit in the back.... no one will ever drive my Jeep. Had a few guys from work sit in the back and they reclined them and now I am going to have to go back there a figure out how to set them back.

Hope you are enjoying the new ride. My guess is that it will take you an extra hour to get home from work the first few days. I am now taking the long way home just to drive. Hey I live in a real little town so the long way is only 3 extra miles but they are now a fun extra 3 miles.

I wish we'd had that monster hook on the back of my wife's 128i when that klutz rear-ended us on Saturday!

It works at any Jeep dealer (at least I had the presence of mind to ask that question!). I'll post some more details on that in the coming days - right now, I'm trying to squeeze out a few pics (to be posted soon) before I run into work again.

More Pictures

Hmmph. I could not find my digital camera this morning, so these shots are still iPhone 4 shots.

You can see another reason why I liked the Rugged Brown - our house is done in various earth tones (and copper) and the Jeep fits right in.

Also shown:
  1. The new Jeep and the ZJ it is replacing.
  2. I did receive the Electric Brake harness kit
  3. Summit mats rock!

Just an FYI

On the harness it says 12 volt wire is yellow with red trace, it's not. Its actually dark brown with red.
