Hitting a deer can be bad enough, but hitting a moose head-on is ,I think potentially fatal for the driver. Not only are they much more massive ,but said mass is up higher due to the long legs. Well, possibly, but in that case, the airbag probably protects the moose more than the driver.
Unfortunately, lighting up rural roads like a movie set to spot the deer, moose, elk tends to draw a bit of unwanted attention. Worse, it is almost impossible to just hit ONE elk...
