Re: Jeep Slush Mats

I have WeatherTech on my Magnum and my wifes Honda Odyssey. I have no complaints. Those Jeep (look to be much less $$$) ones do look nice but they don't cover the entire carpet like the WeatherTech's. I take them out in the summer

Re: Jeep Slush Mats

Are the WeatherTech and Mopar liners a "heavy rubber" material, or a molded plastic type.

My 2000 JCG has a set of plastic liners. They have worked GREAT over teh years to collect a TON of snow/ice/slush from our NH winters, but they are clearly showing their age. They seem to have deformed a bit - edges curling over, etc.

I would like a more heavy duty solution in my new Jeep!

Re: Jeep Slush Mats

Mopar are heavy rubber and worked well for me last winter. I think WeatherTech makes both, but folks here prefer the molded ones. Check their web site.

Re: Jeep Slush Mats

The OEM's are nice but the coverage isn't great in the rear seats.

Re: Jeep Slush Mats

WeatherTech Liners use High-Density Tri-Extruded (HDTE) material.

Re: Jeep Slush Mats

touche.

Regardless, I have yet to have one customer complain about their WeatherTech purchase of speak to anyone that would get another set of mats once they have had WeatherTech.

Re: Jeep Slush Mats

Yep, probably same material I have in my current Jeep (brand ??). My concern with HDPE is the deflection temperature is rated at just 150deg F. That's not a whole lot higher than the interior temps the Jeep may seen on a blazing summer day. I think we're OK at the -180F lower end

http://www.osiplastics.com/downloads/HDPEMatrlSpec.pdf

My complaint with my current slush mats is they have deformed. The edges have curled, causing some interference with the gas pedal. - from what appears to be high temps. When I lay them on the driveway to dry after washing, they seem to soften and return to more normal shape, but its only temporary.

I cannot say for sure my current mats are HDPE, but guessing its a similar formulation.

Re: Jeep Slush Mats

Just checked. Brand is "Highland". They're like 8-10 yrs old and are not holding up well.

They advertise their mats as a durable thermoplastic - guessing its HPDE.

Re: Jeep Slush Mats

Add me to the list of happy Weathertech owners. I've had them in a Honda Civic, Infiniti FX, Mercedes GL, and now I have a set on order for the Jeep. They have always held up and never lost there shape. The gray colored ones did start to stain but the black ones look like new after a good cleaning. I use armorall on them but they get very slick so to each their own.
