Just got a New Grand Cherokee

I just became a Jeep owner. Now I need some side steps for it so my wife can crawl up in it. Any recommendations? I don't want to spend a bunch of money on them, but I want something that is sturdy and looks nice.

Congrats on the new Jeep! I'm sure that if you type in a search, you will find many threads about side steps with loads of info on many models...

Here is one:

I have the chrome Mopar ones and they look great. Check just for jeeps and a few other online retailers for pricing.

Personally I don't find them as functional as I would've thought as they are really close to the vehicle - kind of tough to get footing on them so I just reach over to get in/out. They also help keep dirt off the vehicle.

To each his own....personally not a fan...have them on my wrangler and I think they're a nuisance.
I, ordered Mopar Rock Rails instead. Of course some folks like them and Mopar has some decent ones.

Re: Just got a New Grand Cherokee

I just ordered some Go Rhino Stainless steel Xtreme 4" nerf bars. I almost ordered them from JC Whitney for $268 after a 10% discount, and then found them at Realtruck.com for $164 with free shipping. Only problem is they show a ship date about a month away, but I can wait a month to save $100.

Yours is fancier than mine. I like your wheels and bumper chrome.
I'm going to take her on a road trip soon. Going to the Smoky Mountains and going to drive the Cherohala Skyway and the Tail of the Dragon among other places.

Yeah, I definitely dig the wheels it came with.

The bumper chrome is a bit hard to keep clean, though. It collects bugs up my way. Lots of bugs...and it's barely Spring.

I keep meaning to get down that way some day on the motorcycle...

The Tail of the Dragon will be covered up with bikers through the summer. Especially on weekends.

Unfortunately, it gets covered by trucks and RVs, too. That road needs a length limit less than even the most recent 30 foot plus ban. At least that gets rid of the tractor trailers, but 30 feet is a lot to get around what amounts to close to switchbacks in places.

I wonder how Swift drivers are coping with the ban. I hear they were the biggest offenders.
