lets show what we tow

Our number one priority was having something that would tow long distances with 4 passengers in comfort. I didn't want something bigger like a tahoe as the previous truck was a ram quad cab. After looking at the competition the jeep rose to the top. What truly matters is its much better as a daily driver that the trade in.

We did a 2000 mile trip last fall and the jeep delivered on all counts. For those of you who like numbers we set the cruise at 75-80 and saw 14mpg average with the hemi. Trailer, boat and gear is under 2000lbs.

Thanks. I have not come across that class here in the NE, though I would imagine it is here somewhere.

Re: lets show what we tow

^Nice, did not know those hitch racks could carry that kinda load.

Here's an earlier tow rig thread with some cool shots of some gearheads:

I wouldn't try it with a store bought chinese pos. This one is custom built by moi. The liftgate even clears the tires when mounted ) I recently installed trailer lighting to make it safer/more visible.

Needs a little more tweaking though, after a few 1000 mile round trips the 1"x1" box tubing is sagging. Bzzzt bzzzt goes the mig welder. I'll probably add something for carrying skis and snowboards too.

Cool tow setup.

Love the tire rig you have there as well, would be handy as a support vehicle.

Actually most hitch racks will hold 500lbs which is limited because most hitches only allow 500lbs of tongue weight. The racks themselves will actually hold more.

The WKII will hold just over 700lbs tongue weight with the class IV hitch.

How did them get it to 300hp? That's incredible.
