Grill. Keep it it looks great and is in keeping with your concept.
Running boards. Ditch em
SRT hood. You're not doing a clone, no.
Chrome sides. Swap out for raised Grand Cherokee lettering.

In all a great job and you have achieved your goal!
I'd have to agree with your thoughts, I could keep going with changing things to look more like an SRT but I'd rather stick to a nice balance between the two. I like the badge i'll probably keep it, helps set the rear off from the other WK2's a little. I don't know why i'm the only one who doesn't mind the running boards. Also i've been thinking about swapping the chrome sides for the lettering, just wasn't sure if it would throw things off being there is so much chrome other places. I probably would keep the mirrors the way they are, but what do you guys think, would swapping the chrome sides for just the letters look better?

Nice job. I would only keep the steps if it serves for functional use. But overall you did an amazing job, and great quality photos.

Re: My 2012 Overland SRT Hybrid

Changing the chrome strips out for the lettering cleans up the look of the Jeep in my opinion. I made this change & once the strips are off you won't want them back on. Should look just fine with the existing SRT changes.

Re: My 2012 Overland SRT Hybrid

Dondula,

looks great. I thought I recognized those buildings in the background...Are you in Bham or Royal Oak?

I just finished my Overland myself except I went with no kit and instead did OEM SRT rims and did the Brembo Brake conversion myself. Hit me up back channel if you get a second - your photo's look great and I had some questions as to what type of camera you took your shots with, etc.

Thanks

LD

Black ops should come up with a similar looking badge that says Black Ops/Design. Then there is no question about posing, just your own individualized jeep. Tell them to hook you up like that.

Re: My 2012 Overland SRT Hybrid

@LuckyDog
That's funny you recognized the buildings i'm actually in Birmingham. I also just got done looking at your pics, great job on everything. Wish I could afford to do OEM rims and brakes, but spent most my budget on the bumpers, paint and install. I'm probably also gonna remove the chrome side strips as I think just the chrome letters on the door looks better with the SRT rims.

@Dutch577
That would be great if Blackops had some badging, I was looking for a more custom badge anyway. But i'm fine with the SRT Design badge being I've added SRT design elements to the car.

Re: My 2012 Overland SRT Hybrid

great job! you have an awesome looking jeep, and i think you should keep/change any mods that you like, everyone has an opinion but its your jeep man. do what you like and makes you happy. and i know everyone is hating on the badge but i like it and would keep it. its not posing at all... if it was SRT/8 badge then yea maybe. but the SRT/Design is exactly what you have! idk why people dont get that lol. thanks for posting.

Thanks dude couldn't agree more, I welcome the feedback, and didn't think the badge would be a big deal, I mean yeah if it was the SRT-8 badge I could totally understand but the design badge is just saying that its a particular design style. Wasn't that badge originally used for an SRT styled 300 without the the big engine? That's pretty much what I wanted to accomplish with the jeep. But anyway thanks for your kind words and to everyone else for taking interest in my project. I'll post a couple more pics when I remove the chrome side strips and replace it with the lettering. I'm guessing it will look like this, and I think I like it better.

Re: My 2012 Overland SRT Hybrid

Dondula:

I like the whole idea of the project and your execution the SRT DESIGN suits it well don't lose.

I would have said keep the chome strips if you are planning to take off the running boards because you will need door protection at some point.

Can you do one favor for me personally?

Put that sucker in park/load mode and take some more pictures of that sucker.

Because I know it would look sicker than it already does.
