My 2014 Black GC Altitude

Just picked it up after 6 long, painful weeks of waiting. Clear Bra installation is scheduled for this weekend and perhaps some addition tint.

Re: My 2014 Black GC Altitude

Congrats! How does it feel to finally have it in your driveway after 6 weeks of waiting? I remember the first day I brought my SRT home. It was one year ago on 06/20/14. I will always remember that!

They sure do look good in black! What brand of clear bra are you getting? 3M? Xpel? I have my hood and fenders done and I still want to do the whole front bumper. Let us know how it goes -- congrats again you will enjoy it

Re: My 2014 Black GC Altitude

Feels awesome! I can't stop staring at it.

The place I'm having it done has 3 types of clear bra - ClearShield, ClearShield Pro, and XPEL. I'm not sure what the price difference is but I'll find out when I get there. He quoted me $680 for a standard installation which is the following:

leading edge of the hood and fenders, front bumper, back side of painted mirrors

Re: My 2014 Black GC Altitude

From the limited info I have gathered on the forum I think the XPEL is the top of the line. I could be totally wrong though. I have a really good installer who is going to finish my front bumper for me next week or so.

That is beautiful!!! Thank goodness I have a all black Jeep JKU and the wife had to have the 2014 GCL cashmere pearl. I wanted black but no dice.
Congrats on the best color for a GC.

Re: My 2014 Black GC Altitude

Added tint all around and a clear bra last weekend. Vehicle is much cooler in the AZ heat.

Definitely a lot better with the tint!! Not just in limiting how much light comes in but also looks. Now if we can only have an easy way to get rid of the silly chrome window trim!! (on my list of "things to do" for the Jeep).

It's complete nonsense that they left the chrome on the window trim for the Altitudes. I would've demanded they paint match it or black it out before accepting.

It doesn't bother me too much but I would still prefer that it's black. The only issue is I'm not sure much would stand up to the Arizona summers.
