New around these parts. My second GC (first was a 1998 GC Laredo 4L) and replacing a 2008 BMW 535xi.

Auburn with brown guts and a 5.7L.

Damn that's an amazing color combo. Ugh, don't make me regret my white/brown Summit purchase haha
The more I look at pictures comparing the "platinum" Summit vs regular Summit, I think the non-Platinum just looks better and I can't even really pinpoint why exactly. Try all look great, but that thing just looks awesome!

Thanks guys.

Don't kick yourself over the white/brown combo...it was the first one I found but couldn't bring myself to drive 7 hours one way for it when the local dealer has done me right in the past.

I am finding myself liking this thing more and more each time I drive it.
I want to upgrade interior lights to LEDs, already got a K&N air filter and am going to swap out the stock headlight bulbs for 6000k bulbs.
I have a set of skid plates on order and am debating cutting openings for the hooks. Saw an Overland today with a set of chrome hooks and it looked good.

As for the fogs, I either want to find some bright LED amber bulbs or figure out a way to do some Rigid floods in there somehow.
The dealer I got it at, my buddy is the parts manager and they have done some cool stuff so they may be up to the task.
We shall see...

Thanks again for the welcome.

No I'm not, I love white on brown it's the exact combo I wanted. I was just saying though auburn looks excellent!
As for the headlights, if you are gonna change them out atleast make sure you go with a quality bulb. The absolute best bulb available right now that's near 6000k is th Osram CBI. If you go with some cheap eBay bulb that's just wrong. For the most part, any bulb is a downgrade from oem. The factory 4300k's really are the best as far as useable and most lumens.

You are missing something. Ricer? Not at all. With the LED daytime running lamps, the 4300k bulbs are a much different light color than the LEDs. The 6000k tends to be a closer match and blends better overall.

6000k is also a closer color to daylight than 4300k is. I don't like yellow bulbs in headlights and make no mistake, 4300k has a distinct yellow tint to it.
The light output or lumens is also not that far different. 3400 lumens for a 6000k vs 3700 lumens for a 4300k for comparable 35w bulbs. 300 lumens. Marginal in the grand scheme of things really. A difference of ~15 ft or so in real world illumination.

For fogs, 3000k is a much better choice because your goal isn't total lumens but to get as broad of a spread as possible and 3000k spreads better in foggy conditions.

Besides, not to go all Cartman or anything but it's my Jeep, I do what I want! :slapfight: :D Seriously though, what does it matter what *I* do with my vehicle? I did the same on the Bimmer and the combination matched the LED halos almost identically and garnered plenty of compliments.

I wasn't offended in the least. Just trying to add some levity.

A lot of people just don't think things like this through. But I did a lot...OK a LOT of comparisons when I was doing the BMW. I wanted as close to the stock new LEDs as I could get with the HIDs.
It involved spending a lot of money and basically turning around and going with something else because it was just slightly off visually. In the end, the match was as close as I could get via a purely visual comparison.

6000k does have a slight blue tint to it but not as bad as like the 8000k does. Those things are mostly blue with hints of purple.

But still, the ONLY aftermarket bulb I would ever mess with if you want a whiter color is the Osram CBI's. If you are thinking of some cheaper eBay bulb then I would definitely not do that.
I bet a CBI headlight bulbs, and the VLED VX3 LED fog lights would be exactly what you want. See my LED fog thread I posted with pics

Actually, I was looking at the Philips Ultinon bulbs which are made in the same plant as the Osram CBIs in Germany.

Both use the same Philips glass and the same halide salt supplier. There are no details on either bulb's igniter though so can't really comment on the comparison there.

I don't do eBay for bulbs of any sort. Too many fakes being passed off as legit for my tastes. I would rather go with a well regarded supplier who has a track record of providing legitimate products at competitive prices.

Can someone explain why it has been since May 3,2015 that I order my Summit and have not received it yet...?

Went to see my dealership and he said it was in whitby ontario that was on June 30, 2015

Does someone have an idea about the delay from JEEP..?

That sucks man sorry to hear.. But I think you might be posting in the wrong thread...

I have the 2014 Deep Cherry Summit that I bought used and the whole time that I was searching for mine I didn't see Auburn on any that were listed for sale.

Makes me wonder why, and how many were actually made in that color.

Because it does look sharp.

All good
