Hi all. I'm relatively new to JG, but I've been modding cars for a while. I'm coming from the Audi world, so here are some pics of my previous project cars.

2005.5 B7 A4 Avant

2013 S4

2013 allroad

We had a second kid in early September, so the allroad was beginning to feel cramped. We used to have a 2012 GC Laredo X, and I really missed having it around. I've wanted another Jeep for a while, so I got this High Altitude on 12/31. V6 with HK stereo.

I love the monochrome look of the HA, but I wasn't a fan of the trivalent chrome trim. I thought it would grow on me, but I ended up disliking it more and more. Plus, the mismatched window trim really drove me crazy.

I had the trivalent bumper & grille trim and chrome window trim wrapped in 3M matte dark grey, and had the foglight & taillight bezels wrapped in gloss black. I also had them wrap the whole grille in grey to stand out a bit more. I wasn't sure if I liked it right away, but I really dig it now. Some may not like what I did to the HA, but I like to personalize my cars.

I just ordered a set of BORA 1.25" spacers and James' lowering links. Future plans include the Summit splash guards and some interior LED bulbs. I'd also like to either swap the trim rails for functional rails so I can use my roof box on it, but I might just get the Whispbar K835 fit kit for the trim rails. I can't make up my mind.

Here's our old Jeep for the heck of it on one of our trips to the North Shore. It was my wife's daily driver but also our road trip car. I wish we'd kept it, but the HA has a lot more features.

Hi there - have the SAME GC as you - NICE !!! I also wrapped the chrome window trim - not sure why its the bright chrome instead of black but it is now !!!

You are sayng you are adding BORA spacers - what size and what tires are you upgrading to ?? I also want a bigger beefier tire myself but not sure with the Quadra Lift suspension - I assume you have the same ???

I added the 1.25" BORA spacers, though they're not on in the above photos. 1.25" seems to be the most popular size for the GC, and now that they're on, I can see why. There are lots of pics before/after pics here on the forum. I'll try to take some decent shots soon. I like the look with the spacers, but now I need to get a set of mudflaps because I've already noticed more spray from the tires on the sides of the Jeep. I am not changing the tires.

Here's a quick photo with the 1.25" BORA spacers and some functional roof rails installed.

I really like how the spacers look, even though it's subtle. Much needed, in my opinion. I'm glad to have the functional roof rails now too, as the trim rails are silly. Sure, these rails are silver and I've wrapped all the rest of the silver and trivalent chrome on the Jeep, but I'm not going to bother trying to make the rails match. I don't mind how they stand out, and anything that I did to them (wrap, plastidip, powder coat), would probably take a beating as soon as I started using the rails, so they're going to stay silver.

So, now my High Altitude looks even less like a High Altitude than before.

Do you have a photo from the back or front (straight shot) so that it shows how much the tires stick out?

I forgot that I did snap a few pics while installing the spacers.

Please excuse the dirty Jeep:

It's subtle, but it definitely helps. I'll try to take a couple decent photos when it stops raining here.

Thanks for the pics  - You sold me Looking at the other pics and posts I think the 1.25 are the way to go !!! The one you posted with the rails threw me off a little bit as the tires seemed way out but the straight on ones prove its a better fit.

One question - I was reading about having to cut down the lugs - did you have to on the 1.25 with the stock 20" rims ??

It will be interesting to see on the new HA if they do add the blacked out window trim or keep using the chrome

No, I didn't cut the studs and I wouldn't have added the spacers at all if it required me to do so. The stock wheels have pockets between the lug holes that the stock studs fit nicely into. I can't speak for all Jeep OE wheels though, so if you don't have these wheels, I would pull off one of your wheels to check before ordering.

There's a pic somewhere here on JG of a user who went with 1.5" spacers, and the tires were too far out for my tastes. I will still get the mud flaps though.

Put my roof box on over the weekend for the hell of it, now that I have useable roof rails. It won't stay on long though since my parking garage at work is too low. Still, I like the look of it on the Jeep. I think I'd keep it on all the time if I could.

Last two things that I want to do are get some mudflaps and some 3000K LED foglights.

in the process now of wrapping all the smoked chrome. Did buy the black gloss grill rings and replaced them, wanted those to look perfect.

I paid to have the window trim done, again, wanted that to look great, that is hard to do on your own. I wrapped the mirrors and roof, came out pretty good.

That does look great. I'm going to buy the black rings as well, as the vinyl on mine has started to pull away in the corners. I was skeptical that they could be wrapped in the first place, but the guys who did it said it could be done. 4 months later, it's coming off.

I've had my Jeep for 6,000 miles now, so I stopped by the dealer this morning for an oil/filter change, and found out that the Mopar mud guards I ordered had come in. After putting the spacers on, I had noticed more spray up the sides of the Jeep, so these were a must.

Part numbers:
Front: 82214084
Rear: 82214085
Cost $50 each through the dealer. I normally would have bought these online and put them on myself, but ordering through the parts dept. and having them installed while already in for service was a lot simpler.

Also got this in the mail, so now I finally feel like a real Chrysler owner:
