So glad to hear that the wiring issue is not a worry for me. A question. How long would the break in period be and how do I drive it? I have been trying to keep it at varying speeds, no more than 55mph. I have nearly 100 miles on it. Thanks for the info!
Regarding break in period. Personally, I've always done the following with all of my vehicles and toys (it is supposed to help seat the piston rings). First you always want to warm up your motor and drive train to operating temps. Never put too much stress on the motor or drive train in lower gears. As you mentioned, vary your speed and throttle often. When in a higher gear, say 2nd or 3rd and RPMs at or above 3000 (so transmission does not shift down to a lower gear), slowly press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and leave it there until it's illegal. Then take your foot off of the throttle and let your vehicle slow down with the engine compression only. Do this several times. They say it is best to do this with as few miles/hours on the motor as possible. Visit the following site and draw your own conclusions: http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm
I am not a mechanic, but have done a lot of research on this topic. Also, apparently now some manufacturers are even including a variation of this technique in there owner manuals, as part of the break in procedure.
Do a search on this topic. You'll read different opinions on this. Please do your own research and draw your own conclusions.
Good luck with your new machine!
