Speaking of plastidip. I want to do that to my wheels.

If I remove the wheel, clean it and dip it. How likely am I to rip the dip with tools and lug nuts? Even when being careful.

Cheers,
Ollie

Re: My JGC 2012 black on black build up

I have done mine.. and its ok. Be careful with the tools . If you rip a bit.. shoot a bit a brake cleaner on your finger and massage where the rip is to smooth it out and make it stick again...and shoot again a bit of dip. Tape your nuts before.

Re: My JGC 2012 black on black build up

Today I had the DRLs disabled at the dealer. At first, they said it was not doable, but I insisted that they try, and set the Country code to USA then disable DRL. It worked !

I have read somewhere that you had to do this for Canadian models.. So if you want to do it on your Jeep, it is doable. Dont let them tell you it is not.

I wanted DRL disabled, because my angeleyes retrofit is acting as my DRL. And i didnt like the DRL in highbeam + the angeleyes on together as DRL. Now only the 2 halos in the head lights are my DRL. And this week I should receive my fog lights that also have DRL So no need anymore to have the highbeam as DRL.

Re: My JGC 2012 black on black build up

I received the fog lights. Really nice lights. I took my Jeep in my garage and removed the front bumper again, and removed the headlights. I did a bit of work there too.

1- Upgraded for a Morimoto relay harness with capacitor
2- Upgraded the HID bulbs for Morimoto XBS 5000K (I had 6000K)
3- I tried the projectors with a 50W morimoto ballast to see. Not enough difference in light output i must say. So I sticked with the 35W morimoto.
3- Redid the horizontal alignment, and vertical alignement.
4- Added some vents in the headlights. Seems to have fixed the fog issue. I used goretex patch from TRS
5- Installed the fogs and made my own harness for that.
6- Alignement of the fog.

I like the fogs. The output is a bit less than my stock fog reflectors with 30W LED inside, but its more beamed and focused lights instead of spreading the lights everywhere. So in the end, it ends up lighting better than stock fog with LED or HID.

I will post some pictures later I got to go wash her before. I want to test a carwash with high pressure water to see if my headlights will hold on.

no.. not the 22" fo rme. 20" is a max i think. For a more offroad look. I would have gone with 22" if it was lowered, or if it was an SRT8. I like to have a bit more rubber

Not a big fan of HDR, but I like that first shot.

No hdr at all. One single exposition shot with multiple flashs

Re: My JGC 2012 black on black build up

But i get your point. I hate un-natural look of some HDR shot. But it doesnt mean that hdr need to have that un-natural look. You can blend multiple exposure shots with not effect whatso ever. HDR style you dont like is propably done with Photomatix. I must admit i pushed a bit on the treatment here , but i kinda like it Its a bit pushed so i can see it wont please everyone hehe.

Well I'm much more impressed with that, honestly. Well done!

Yeah, I just can't get into that completely painterly look they get sometimes and it's an easy way to make a photo look dynamic. Not much skill involved most times, but you obviously know what you're doing.

Those first 2 shots are real nice. I think the under the bridge would've looked good with lights on."Gotta show off the hard work"!!!!!
