I admit it. When I wax a car, I love the look in the sun but, I cant wait until it rains. I have been using Collinite #915

as a winter wax for 2 years now. No wax (carnauba) lasts longer.
I had a chance to put some on the Jeep this weekend and ...IT RAINED THIS MORNING!!

Granted it was a hard rain not a mist so the beads are not as awesome as they could be but...
Bad Blackberry pics but I had to share.
Are you a beadaholic too?

I am also a Beadoholic!

... and love the Collinite's as my winter wax as well but I use the Insulator Wax #845. Works great, water still beads after almost 2 months and no nasty smell like RP mentioned - smells like most generic waxes out there.

Great products

Have yet to try any of the P21S products but hear good things.

I usually go with either Adams or Zaino in the summer but may try something new come spring - possibly one of the poorboys offerings.

Zaino makes great stuff. I find it takes a little more time and elbow grease (or PC work) but in the end the smoothness and look of the finish is amazing.

Generally if I have a full day to detail: Zaino
1/2 day: Adams
Quick wax: NXT 2.0
Winter wax: Collinites

How about this for an update on Collinite #915
I have been to a few of those spray wash places with the Harsh "pre-soak" setting. Hand washed yesterday and it rained today (what a shock)
I have not waxed since the end of October and it is still beading like crazy.
#915 is my winter wax to stay...for now:D

I usually use Meguiar's NXT on the wheels. Gives it a little more metallic pop, and lasts a decent amount of time if you apply it and let it sit for a few hours. Gives it some minor resistance to getting dirty too I think.

There's a few specialized waxes out there for wheels, never tried them though.

The trick with NXT is to let it sit for as long as possible to set up, as its a synthetic sealant. I usually try to let it set up for a few hours in the garage, and it can last 4-6 months provided you wash it and either spray wax or use a wash&wax in one for upkeep every few weeks.

A lot of people don't get the best results with it because they don't give it time to adhere properly, they use it like a carnauba and try to get it on and off as fast as possible.

3M Performance finish sealant also is a very durable and decent looking sealant for on wheels. I use it on the wifey's ride when I know it won't be washed/waxed for a long time because I won't be around.

Will have to look into the Collinite stuff. Sounds like it could work out well on her Outlander.

Collinite, Duragloss, many others will outperform NXT hands down (and will not stain trim in the process). NXT smells good, easy on, easy off, looks good for a short while...that's about it. I've had a bottle on the shelf for > 5 yrs. I use it on mower now.
