Re: MY14 Jeep Grand Cherokee OZ

Finally got around to dipping the taillight bezels.
Ended up removing, spraying, installing.
Makes such a difference!

Personally not a fan of that, but that should mean nothing, your car, what you like is what counts.

Nice! you should do the chrome surrond on your bumper. Awsome part about the plastidip is you can remove whne you sell it and get it back to stock and for the chrome lovers.

How hard was it to remove the taillight bezels?

I didn't remove the bezels, just the lights and masked off a sprayed away.
Truth is it was my second go, the 1st time the PD wasn't thick enough and hard to paint at in some spots.
Otherwise the light removal was not a big job.
The bezels were too fiddly to take off.

I have considered that as well, I was going to buy the altitude black one and just snap off and snap on.
Also need to do
window trim(wrap)
plasti dip
front lower grille and fog light bezels.
Chrome rings
insert mesh grille backing

My wife dipped while the lights were on the car and bottom of the chrome didn't get any dip on it.

Which guide did you use to remove the tails?

Re: MY14 Jeep Grand Cherokee OZ

Just open up the trunk
on the body of the jeep there are 2 clips holding the lights
pop them out with a flat screw driver.
The body tail light just pulls out towards you.
Then just un turn the lights to release them from the light cover.

Now the trunk.
with the trunk open, disconnect the battery in the car.
pry the trunk cover(inside) with a flat screwdriver or plastic tool.
there are approx 8 press studs that hold the backing.
the cover will then hang there and you can get into the lights from inside the trunk.
there is 4 bolts holding these.
then the lights will pop out.
untwist bulbs like the previous lights and you have your lights out.
The screw that holds the chrome bezel was too hard to unscrew so I just masked and dipped.
easy.
