Re: new Altitude Grill installed

hmmmm this makes me want to buy the summit grille and then have the grille painted body colored but leave the platinum insert.... hmmm I didn't care much for the plastidipped grille so I peeled it off, even added the glossifier to it to see if I liked the gloss black with the maximum steel, just didn't do it for me. I wonder if anyone has done that mod, had the summit grille body painted but left the inserts platinum colored. time to do some research lol

I think that body color grill is the way to go, looks really great, I went from chrom to plastidipped to body color on my black overland and it looks the best as part of the facia in the same color in my opinion.

The Summit insert is chrome. The Altitude insert is platinum. I have an Altitude insert I'm not using. I think Raptor has a Summit Grille with chrome inner mesh but with brilliant black grill. I don't think he ever posted any pics of it though.

Yes I mounted the painted Brillant Black "Altitude" grill face to my "Summit Chrome" inner mesh front WK2 grill. This was OEM part# 1ZW79AXRAA
Note: I only mounted the painted brilliant black face or shell of this grill to my "Summit Chrome" inner mesh, I did not swap the entire assembly.

To be honest the difference between the "Alititude Platinum Chrome" inner mesh and the "Summit Chrome" inner mesh is very slight, almost not even noticeable to the naked eye. My setup looks exactly like the Altitude grill pictured in this thread!

PS: Thanks for your support jgc4ever, at least someone is paying attention!

To swap the entire grill assembly you have to remove the front urethane bumper skin. To do what I did you only need to pop off the grill face or shell. 12 clips total, 6 on top and another 6 on the bottom.

Check out this thread for more info & some good pics;

Re: new Altitude Grill installed

Is there a part # for the inner mesh of the Overland Grille? I have a limited and want a chrome grille but with the mesh not the slats.

Re: new Altitude Grill installed

Looks awesome! Considering removing your chrome side panels yet? Looking to get an 11 or 12 black overland myself too, such a nice look in black.
