Putting aftermarket exhaust on a EcoDiesel is borderline wasting your money. The DPF/SCR is the biggest hindrance in terms of outlet airflow and your gains will be negligible at best. It has been documented on other threads.

You cannot simply "remove it" without installing a after tune - specifically a GDE off-road tune - or the Jeep will not start/run.

It's plainly obvious you need the tune with the scr delete. So much so you went out of the way to tell my this. So yes, you missed the point

Re: New Jeep Ecodiesel owner

Someone in Oz has been fitting 3 inch cat back exhausts to the ecodiesel, here is his comments:

The sound is subtle. The system is hardly noticeable in the car, in fact i'd go as far to say its not noticeable, however the system does give a subtle deep burble which I like and you can notice a nice deep sound from outside of the car as the car is driven away. We have seen around 8kw increase at the wheels with the exhaust and a noticeable increase in throttle response.
