Hey guys,

My name is Eric. Live near pittsburgh PA. Prior to this I had a 2013 Explorer Limited. It had a few options my jeep still doesnt have, but overall I love the looks of the Jeep.

Things I miss from the explorer.
Auto parking (wife used it often)
Softer seats
Softer ride
3rd row seating (have two kids in car seats)

Things I like so far better than my explorer
More aggressive styling (looks sinister with the LED headlamps too)
More responsive, WAY better nav system and better touch capabilities
Stereo sounds fantastic, almost like its aftermarket
air suspension is pretty cool too

Wish my headlights were as bright as my explorer, the high beams are not as bright but are sufficient.

I am happy with the purchase, will probably keep it for a while unless I have problems with it.

Here are a couple photos, as if you guys have not seen them a million times lol

Congrats.

For a softer ride you should have went with an Overland or Summit. The HA has shocks that are more firm.

The seats are firm. You get use to it though. I've read that the Summit uses a softer foam in the seat.

My lights are bright. People always flash me because they think they're on bright but aren't.

I had a 2013 Explorer Sport. That thing was awful. The black plastic interior. The awkward seating position. The fit and finish was terrible. Don't miss it at all.

Your right about the seating position.

I didn't know about the summit having a softer ride :(. Though it wouldn't have changed my decision. I like the styling of the HA. Reminds me of an weaker SRT lol

The reason I bought a limited when I ordered my explorer in 2012 (2013 model) was because under no circumstances could you get HID lights on the sport. So I had to get the 302a package that was like $6499.00 to get them on the limited but included everything from the voice nav, pano roof, auto parking, auto braking, seatbelt a with airbags in rear, power lift gate and rear folding seats, auto high beams and wipers, adaptive cruise and a few other features. They utilized a foam padding on any hard surface that wasn't leather so for instance the driver right knee would always have something soft to rest against on long drives.

One thing I really really like as small as it may be is that I can turn the nav screen off. I was able to do it on my 13 GT500 but couldn't do it on my explorer. The small things make me happy.

Anyways, here are some photos of my last ride

Had a 13 Ford Explorer and a 13 GT500 with all the options minus glass roof. Loved that car, they even delivered it to my house.

I hear that, but that can be fixed for free, or mostly anyway, short of body work. I was disappointed to see mine had the plate as well with four holes, but I was able to fix that to be almost 100% invisible unless you are within two feet of the vehicle. Trim the holes flush, fill hole with whatever filler (jb weld or epoxy), just something formable and trimable. Shave it smooth and either apply touch up paint or color matched vinyl decal cut to small circle. Results:

No sir! It left when I had my first son lol. Now I just had a little girl two weeks ago. It seems my fun car days are over.

Almost bought a 2014 srt8 to fill the void, it was less than the HA but the miles scared me off :(

Maybe if this jeep works out i will look into one for me and give my wife the HA

What kind of Stang you got??!

I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum...have the HA, but fun car was a 2006 Z06. No longer own it though, but damn was it fun! I do really like the new Mustangs, but not sure if I do enough to keep me away from another Corvette ;-)
