...because I FINALLY picked up my new Overland....and completely worth the wait. Took delivery of the Mineral Gray/Saddle Overland, Hemi, Panoramic, with 20's (and Lux Group II) 3 nights ago. I am amazed with what Chrysler created and my thoughts are not much different than other first impressions listed on the forum. I ordered Nov 11th and took delivery Feb. 10th.

I was blown away with the color combo of MG/Saddle when I first saw it in the original WK2 commercial and to actually HAVE IT in front of me after 3 months of waiting, I can tell you that no photo or video does it any justice.

Although it can get no more personal when it comes to vehicle color choice, I am compelled to say to those who have ordered or are seeking this color combo.....you will be freaked out when you see how sexy, sophisticated, and 'opulent' it looks. Just freaking amazing.

My thoughts: The Daimler DNA is readily apparent in this Jeep.....mostly in a good way but as many have noted before, a few buttons and switches could have a more solid feel for the price. Irritating maybe but certainly no deal breaker. I won't complain about not having the 730N because the 430N is just amazing to me and works flawlessly.

-U Connect was a breeze for me (thankfully) and issues of phone pairing (Black Berry), blue tooth audio streaming, etc. were quick and easy.

-LOVE auto high beams....I can't stop laughing at how well it works because I am one of those drivers that takes way too much pride in how I never blind other drivers because I always switch to low beams before that can occur. This system so far does it way better than I can.

-EVIC programming was an absolute breeze when personalizing certain settings. For my height (6'5") and long reach, the way the steering wheel feels most comfortable to me usually has the speedometer obscured by the 2 to 3 o'clock position of the wheel, so being able to have my speed setting visible in the EVIC (as well as on the NAV) is just outstanding.

-Love how the NAV displays the speed limit of whatever street I am on at any given time! That way I can be sure to "hide nav" if I get pulled over for letting the Hemi breathe too hard.

-REALLY appreciate how you can dim everything on the display down to almost nothing at night. The Tahoe I was driving for the last couple of months has a 'night time' setting that just reverses the contrast to darker colors.....then proceeds to blind you at night with it's bright display of those darker colors. The GC's whole instrument panel and nav/radio display goes as dark as you like.

-To all of you whose children forced the need to have rear seat DVD....I will take pity on you every time I open the shade or glass on the panoramic sunroof. Awesome feeling to have that much of a view of the world outside!

-Only used a quarter tank so far so no mileage miracles to report but I am definitely not looking for that anyway. All I know is that this Hemi V-8 gets better mileage than the 4.0L 6 that my 2004 GC could give me.

-The heated seats and air conditioned seats are incredible. So is the heated steering wheel. This car simply continues to spoil me.

Pics attached are not the best quality but no way am I posting without SHOWING something!!! As you can see, there will be no snow related performance reviews from me right now.

I saw a MG last night with the black interior, 20's. I was caught gawking at it by the owner :worried:

Congratulations, great review!

Man, that looks F'in nice. You almost had me wanting to call the dealer and change my order color to Mineral Gray from Dark Charcoal. Luckily I saved nbtstatic's famous dark charcoal pics on my computer I was able to get that out of my mind ;-)

Congrats that is one amazing machine!!! man it was tough for me to decide mineral gray or dark charcoal. You just made me question my decision!

How do you get it to display that? I have the 730N...not available on mine?

Good question. I have no idea, it was just there from the beginning. One reason why I was so pleasantly surprised. It's displayed in the lower right hand corner of the nav screen and it looks just like a little black and white speed limit sign.

Any 730N users have a good answer?

WTG Fitz. I'm an MG fan also (black interior). Your photos made me long for spring and a spiffed-up Jeep!

Great writeup too. I agree with you re the features that make this vehicle tres cool. Enjoy it!

I know, I know....sorry! I too, tortured myself by checking in to the garage no less than 4 times a day to read about other experiences. However, the knowledge base and courtesy in this forum is as wonderful as my new Overland and made me somewhat of a systems 'expert' before I ever took delivery. I am definitely enjoying it's features a heck of a lot more thanks to the forum.

Find a hobby to distract yourself from the pain of checking your calendar and just know it will be worth the wait.

Now, time for me to give back by becoming a site supporter before dropping more dough on accessories like sharkfin, chrome fog light bezels, and husky liners.
