Re: Overland Before and After Pics

I like the look!

Have you checked the speedo against a gps for accuracy after the bigger diameter tires? from my calculations, you went up to 31.9" diameter.

Thanks for taking those measurements for me. Unfortunatley, I'm not at the same height in the front. I'm at 35.5" in the rear but 33.5" in the front. I guess that's why a lot of folks without the adjustable ride height opt for the leveling kit. Not sure yet on that?
For the time being, I'm just waiting on my BORA 1.25s. Lenny told me that they're being made and should arrive soon.
After that, I've got a decision to make - A) stay with my OEM 18's and get some Silent Armor's to improve the look and lose the car-like Latitudes. B) upgrade to some take-off Jeep 20's and put some OEM sized Terra Grapplers on it. C) upgrade to the 20's and go with the 275 / 55's.
I just don't want the truck to look like a lowrider in the front. I don't want a big gap, but also don't want the front fenders sitting on the front tire. I guess a leveling kit could count as another option??
Dslide, your Jeep looks great and having had 2 of these dogs, you've got a lot of experience. I'd value your opinion. Let me know your thoughts.
And, I agree with that you said, the Garage is a great place to learn and get ideas so you can make an informed purchase. Lot of great looking rides on here!
Otis- thanks for the comments, but I'm learning from everyone on here all the time too. You may find you like your tires without the level, and with the spacers... but I personally like the look of a more aggressive tire on the WK2, whether it's stock size or bigger. On my last WK2 I added 275/55/20 Michelin LTX MS2's and thought it looked great and drove better than with the stock Forteras. I'm not a big fan of the rake look and when I added the Tuff Country Leveling Kit I thought it looked much better and handled just as well. Pull the trigger on what makes you happy. I prefer the look of a bigger tire that fills out the well more- even those bigger than the ones I have. As much as I liked the ride of the Michelin's on my last ride, I opted for the Terra Grapplers on my current WK2 because I like the wider shoulder and more aggressive look. You've probably seen many other posts on here about other tires that also look great and are well reviewed. Post some pics whatever you choose!

Yeah- kinda sucks that you can't re-calibrate the speedo to adjust for the larger tire. I show 1-2 MPH slower than what I'm actually doing but doesn't bother me because it's so minimal.

It rained where I am last week and I am happy to report the pedals felt just as good as the stock rubber ones, if not better when my shoes were wet. Grippy IMO. Never would have thought I'd add pedal covers to my vehicle, but I actually dig the way they look every time I open my door.

Thanks again everybody! Peace.

I'm digging the painted trim on the '14s, but won't touch mine. I'd worry about how well the paint would hold up, and also the black trim against black paint doesn't stand out so much.

dslide, I love the black mesh insert in the altitude grille. I just bought an altitude grille and thinking about doing the same thing. Not a big fan of the chrome mesh on the grille. I also have a black wk2. Looking great!

Re: Overland Before and After Pics

I put the 2014 lettering on my 2012 overland today. Turned out great....no blisters yet....

It was 45 degrees in my garage, but I was still able to get it done with a hairdryer

Re: Overland Before and After Pics

Looks awesome. How hard was it to mask off the chrome JEEP lettering on the rear brow, when you painted it body color? I really like the look, and I guess Jeep did too, since they changed it to that look on the 14 model.
