Pedal Dress Up Kit and Splash Guards

If anyone was interested what the splash guards and pedal dress up kit look like installed, here are some photos. PS - when installing the brake pedal cover, don't attempt without a heat gun, I "learned" the hard way

Re: Pedal Dress Up Kit and Splash Guards

Thanks for the pics. Are the black portions of the new pedals rubbery, are you still getting a good grip as the oem pedals?

Yes, they are "rubbery", and I think are as good as the OEM.

I bought mine at the dealer. They used to have them on the Mopar web site under the Jeep Accessories, but the part numbers are gone now. The "justforjeeps" website has them at this link: http://www.justforjeeps.com/spgudemo11.html

Hope this helps.

White Chocolate is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Pedal Dress Up Kit and Splash Guards

Take a photo from the rear, so people can visualize it from the back

Re: Pedal Dress Up Kit and Splash Guards

How did you get the brake pedal dress up on? My gas pedal went on OK but I couldn't get the brake cover on. My garage was reasonably warm (50ish) but I could not get the rubber to catch.

What's the trick?

Thanks,
Skip

Re: Pedal Dress Up Kit and Splash Guards

Skip' I used a heat gun, flat blade screw driver to stick under the lip of the pad and a hand mirror to see what I was doing. Still quite a task.

Skip,

I used a heat gun to get the rubber on the stainless steel backing plate for the brake as hot as possible without actually melting it, and I also heated the metal naked brake pedal. In addition to the heat from the gun, I used "Magic Lube" which is a silicone based (rubber safe) lubricant jelly for pool o-rings to help slip the hot pedal cover into position. It (or similar product) should be available from any pool supply store. So with a small screw driver, some heat, a little lube, and lots of patience, it is possible to install the kit. Took me about an hour after much swearing.

Hope this helps.

White Chocolate - I'm now on the road for work, but when I get back on the weekend, I will take a photo from the back for a better feel for it and post it here.

Anyone else out there with splash guards willing to share a rear photo sooner (of your Jeep )?
