Pic Request - 2011 WK2 Overland

Could someone post a close up of the area to the right of the steering wheel (i.e. toward the passenger side)? I had to get some work done several days ago and since then it seems like there is a 1 cm+ gap between the wood trim and the steering wheel collar/seal. Maybe it was always there and maybe it's totally normal, but it looks a lot tighter on the left side.

Just curious if anyone else has this gap or if I should go back and ask to get it tightened up, assuming that's possible.

hahah I had to get the bearing replaced in there. Now I notice the same gap. I was wondering the same thing as you.
So +1 here on the gap but +1 on the work in the area also.

This is what passes for "quality work" at my dealership:

I know this isn't a huge thing but when it's such a quality vehicle - and overall it really is - to have stuff like this showing up because of service work...! I've had this vehicle about 6 weeks and this will be 4th time it's had to go in.

I had to have the Forward Collision Warning sensor replaced. I'm not sure why they had to go in by the steering column, but I'll assume they had to.

The left side looks pretty tight, much like in the pictures provided by Cherodude (thanks, btw!), but the right side has a pretty noticeable gap, so much so that I can see the thickness of the wood trim.

I'm hoping they didn't damage either the collar or the trim, which is why it's not fitting snug any more.

Take it back, over 40k for a vehicle it should be done right. You have every right to be picky, hell be down right OCD. Just looked at my wood trim and mine is flush no gap at all.

I can't tell either from looking at it or looking at a PDF I found that showed how to remove the trim in the area just how the two collar around the steering wheel is attached. I'm hoping it's not a case that once it's removed post-factory the pieces will never fit together as tight or without a gap.

I'll check my jeep when i take my lunch break in about 30 mins. I don't recall there being a gap offhand.

Re: Pic Request - 2011 WK2 Overland

just as a follow up there definitely wasn't a gap where your pics show one next to the steering column. Looks like the dealer didn't put things back together properly.

I had my dealer replace that part and the gap is exactly the same, I also saw a brand new SRT8 and it had the same gap as well.

Re: Pic Request - 2011 WK2 Overland

I've just noticed the exact same thing in my newly purchased 2013 Overland. Has anybody had any luck solving this? (either themselves or with dealer work) I'm pretty disappointed by this and several other interior fit/finish problems that I've discovered.
