Thumbs up Price Paid on your 15 Altitude ?

Quick Intro.

I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler 2dr Sahara that my wife and I are looking to trade in today or tomorrow on a 15' Altitude.

deciding on 3 colors.. Maximum Steel - Her favorite. Deep Cherry Red - My favorite and Granite Crystal.. which we both like but think we may get bored with the color.

What are you guys paying for these? and where can I realistically expect to be price wise?

the 3 we are looking at are stickered at 39k plus some dealer bs..brining the price to 41k

I was thinking around 35to 36k

I had a dealer in Orlando, FL offer me a Black 15 Overland for 43k that stickered at 47,500 Which we have considered but We just love the look of the overland.

If you could have purchased the overland over the altitude would you have?
THe only thing I hate is NO Panoramic moonroof in the Altitude.

Also what are the big differences with the 4x4 systems? See the Altitude has no manual operation vs the Overland. We have a beach permit and drive on soft sand .. will the Altitude 4x4 system have any issues with this??

Anyways sure would appreciate your 2 cents

We have loved our wrangler but need something larger for travel etc...

Looking forward to growing in this community.

I have been an active member of Bimmerpost and bimmerfest for my BMW and the Jeep Forum for quite some time now this forum looks like it will be great as well

Thanks - John

Re: Price Paid on your 15 Altitude ?

Some of the folks in this forum who owns an Altitude live in areas of snowy winters. The feedback I've received is that it works great. I've recently purchased mine and it hasn't snowed yet, so I won't be able to give you my feedback.

The beaches where I live do not allow trucks to drive on to them. I've heard that if you air out the tires before you get on sand, you should be fine.

You are correct that the Altitude does not come with the Quadtrec 2 system.

Not a lot of members here or just not a very helpful group like I am use to from other car forums.

Thanks for your reply Pauls

Usually this is a very active forum (Remember it's still the holidays). You really don't want to piss off the folks who are on here. They are very helpful. If you do a search, there are people who previously asked the same questions you have asked.

Re: Price Paid on your 15 Altitude ?

I picked up a 2015 Altitude with Trailer Tow Group and Power Sunroof in August and paid $35,480 from a sticker of $39,480. So around $4k off sticker is reasonable to expect. The 4x4 system works very well IMO. With all the electronic nanny's installed with it, I find it nearly impossible to get it squirrely in the snow and mud.

Re: Price Paid on your 15 Altitude ?

Yeah you are right about it being the holidays.

Not here to piss anyone off on the forum either.. and being new it will just take some time to get use to how this forum works and getting to know people.

Just use to enthusiast on the car forums and generally quick replies.

Just purchased a new M3 sedan and picking it up this Monday so finally joined in from the M forums and got a wealth of responses / help and welcomes within an hour of joining the group. of course us crazy bmw enthusiasts may have a slight addiction

Just looking forward to the same here. got the same interaction on the wrangler forums as well.

Headed out to go test drive an Altitude today and an Overland.. Loving the look of the Altitude but its missing a few things and may sway towards the Overland if the deal is right..
I figure we can always by the black emblems, Black Exhaust, Paint the wheels and get the black honeycomb grill and SRT Black tail bezels and Bam! Overland Altitude edition.

Really leaning towards the Deep Cherry Red now..

Inspired by WV0116's deep cherry Red Altitude It looks Awesome

Will update soon with our purchase..

Also, take into consideration that you posted in the "New Members Rides-Showoff" sub forum of the main WK2 forum. This may have also contributed to minimal replies.

Good luck with your decision. I picked up a 2014 Altitude this past March for just over $36K. I love my vehicle dearly and it fits my needs perfectly. The options of the Overland are definitely appealing. If the price point difference is not a deal breaker go for the Overland. I was staying within a certain $ budget and the Altitude fit perfectly.

Cheers!

Yeah I noticed that after I posted.. Just didn't want to repost and have this floating around twice.

MOD's if you see this would you please move thread to appropriate place?

Don't get me wrong.. I dig the Altitude and honestly think it will fit the bill.. The price just has to be there. The fact I was finding 41k altitudes vs overlands in the 41-44k price point just had me shaking my head..
I would need the Altitude to be 35k for it to be a deal.. but if I can pick up an Overland for 41k I will need to sit back and decide what is best long term. I really would like the Panoramic sunroof and the optional 4wd system.. plus passenger power seating .. but is that worth 6to7k .. not sure? Also the Altitude package resale value ... no idea what this thing will be worth in 4 years.. just dont want to take a bath on this purchase.

But its my wifes car and want her to be happy.. but I will be the one modding and it will be what we travel in .. so gotta choose wisely.

Thank you!

I just returned from a Chicago - Detroit round trip. About 800 miles total. Averaged 23.1 on the way and 22.9 coming back. I filled up going at 485 miles. I doubt 600 is doable but I did hit 505 once.

All the answers to the questions you asked can be found on this forum.
Maybe you can take a look around at the different threads related to Altitudes and pricing in general.
As far as the 4x4 being sufficient for your needs the simple answer is yes. Just make sure you have the correct tire for your needs.
