Just got back from a day trip to Rainbow Beach, QLD, Australia
The trip started with approximately an hours drive up Teewah Beach. For the most part it was easy driving on hard sand, however there was about 1-2 kilometres of soft and difficult driving. The GC handled it without a problem with tyres at 20 PSI and in sand mode.
The only issue was due to poor driving (rev too hard, not enough speed, too high an angle), when turning at an exit off the beach. This resulted in having to be towed out (and the need for some new mud flaps!).
This exit was taken so we could go on the Freshwater Rd track which lead from Teewah Beach to Rainbow Beach Rd. The track itself was pretty tame, apart from the occasional articulating decent, and a good amount of corrugations towards the end. Once on Rainbow Beach Rd, we continued into the town of Rainbow Beach, where we had lunch and waited for the tide to go down so the headland was passable. (vid)
After this, we made our way along Rainbow Beach, admiring and collecting the numerous colours of the sandy cliffs which give the area it's name. We then crossed the island again on the more northerly and much shorter Leisha Track, very easy, and made our way back down Teewah Beach and home.
All in all, it was a great trip, nothing extremely difficult, but fun nonetheless. If anyone from Aus around the area has considered it, I would without hazard say do it (just plan for the tides!)

Great photos and great to see a GC in its natural habitat.
We had our honeymoon in Noosa (oh no, is it that long ago!!!!) and drove Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island in a hired Suzuki softtop. Would be great to go back some time....
