route 66 road trip

Loaded up the Jeep and left Phoenix with a few weeks of cloths and drove to Chicago and back. 2011 Laredo 4x4 V6 is really hitting song now after starting the trip with 19k on the odo, could pass and accelerate quickly even on mountain inclines. This is my first road trip out with the K & N drop-in and I believe it helped quite a bit on the top end.

Finally getting to enjoy it a bit now..

Re: route 66 road trip

All I-40 and I-55 on the way out, speeding through Holbrook, outside Amarillo, then Lebanon, MO. Then back through the Jefferson City/Lake of the Ozarks, Springfield, Dodge City, and Santa Fe, trucking over US 60 to get back to Phoenix. Fast and flat the majority of the time I actually got to 25.1 mpg on the computer over the first 1800 miles and doing the back-roads near old rt66 on the return and in the rain, with stops to get out on the water and such, hit 23 mpg. Decent speeds were reached as needed.
