Thanks Yeah man just mask off maybe 1/8 of an inch away from what your gonna spray. This way when you pull off the tape it doesnt pull the paint off. Learned that the hard way. Use light coats dont let it drip or puddle up. The more coats the better. Home depot has the plastic dip for 5.98 a can, also buy that spray can handle works wonders. Thats about it!! Oh yeah a 6pack of coronas lol. Check out dipyourcar.com get info

Re: Second plastic dip experience

So, from your four pics it doesn't look like there's any priming or sanding involved, am I correct? I'm a first timer so I don't want to mess this up. I'm going to be dipping the seven chrome pieces in the grille to black, thoughts? I take delivery of it Monday so if anyone has any "this is the worst idea I've ever heard" opinions, tell me!

Noooo sanding!!!! you just mask off what you dont want dripped and have at it. If you mess up let it dry and peel it off. Its simple  Just take your time and dont over spray. Use light coats. Go to dipyourcar.com for some more Info

You know that rear brow pulls off in about two minutes. Way easier than all of that masking.

Why did you spend extra money on summit chrome if you are going to cover it up? should have bought the regular Overland and saved your money.

It's like, "Don't mess with me! I've got black chrome."
