SuperBumper Bumper Shield (16" wide by 6" high 3/8" thick steel plate )
I paired it which a Thule hitch lock that I use for my bike rack.
This is to protect against low speed rear end collisions. Mainly winter driving conditions where ice or snow causes loss of traction. I felt it was cheap insurance if it saves me a trip to the body shop.

I'm on their Website - is your bumper shield the XL or the XL25?

I have the XL which is for a 2" hitch receiver.
The XL25 is for a 1.25" hitch receiver.

re: SilverBillet's JGC Altitude OEM + Build thread

Can anyone suggest a reasonable price I can ask for my OEM wheels + Cooper Zeon's with 8k miles? Wheels go for 500 a piece and tires 200 a piece but I know better then to ask full retail. No issues with wheels or tires. Everything still looks new.

I'm thinking I may pick up another set of Factory Reproductions for summer to replace the OEM Altitude wheels. The offset gives you plenty of clearance on the inside of the wheel and room behind the spokes for some Brembo's.

Wow the JEEP looks great !! Glad to see the wheels worked out. Nice work man

Assuming normal wear, and no scuffs on the wheels, knock about 25-30% off the new price and see how it goes. That way, when someone offers 5% less than that, you'll still be ok. Not ideal, given the cost of them new, but better than nothing.

You'll really get screwed with shipping, though. So, if you want to ask for more $$$, then include shipping.

re: SilverBillet's JGC Altitude OEM + Build thread

Thanks GunninIt. I have them up on Craigslist for 2k which is right in that 25-30% range. If they don't sell locally I'll just keep them.

I've shipped a few wheels before and it's a big pain.

MOFSTEEL's JGC Altitude OEM + Build thread

^this crap^
Oh joy. I subscribe to MOFSTEEL build thread and my alerts show me this crap above.

To continue enjoying this build thread let me ask about the LTZ's you are getting rid of. I'm a Michigander so the thought of the shoe having sucky traction is not a good thought. With the need for new shoes rapidly approaching, the LTZ's were #1 on the list. Should I be reconsidering? I do drive "a lot" and the winters you experience will be the same experience for me.

re: SilverBillet's JGC Altitude OEM + Build thread

Blkwk2 ... We haven't had a snowfall here so I can't comment on their abilities in the snow but the reviews both on this forum and on tire retailers websites all seem to be positive.
What made me switch to a dedicated winter setup was their abilities on icy roads.
The first time I had an issue was late at night coming home from an event about 10 miles away from home. I started slipping almost immediately as I was leaving the parking lot. ABS was going crazy because the tires weren't picking up any traction. I can describe it best as a pair of roller skates on ice.
The second time was early in the morning on the way to work. Although the streets didn't seem that bad I passed a Chevy Blazer laying on its passenger doors. Black ice was definitely the culprit.
Both times there were many drivers having issues but the loss of traction was enough to make me go out and purchase the winter set.

My opinion may be bias towards the dedicated winters since I've run them on all my cars since 2007. I guess once you go with winters you can never go back.
